Yes, LD's can feel, look, smell, sound, and even TASTE just like real life. There will always be that slight sense of dream but everything can be just as realistic as real life. Remember though, dreams are unstable and can change alot (even while lucid) so though it may seem extremely real, you will still come across many odities that are unrealistic.

If you think you're going to open your eyes and walk around like with that same real life quality, you might be disappointed. From my experience, yes, lucid dreams are much more realistic than normal dreams, but they still have that same dreamlike quality. They're noticeably different from waking life.

Well, they can be so clear you think it's a dream even though they ain't.
I have had severals of dream that have been just as clear as beeing awake, where i could se everything very clearly and it (almost) look just as in real life.

It depends if you focus your attention on stabilizing the dream clarity. The last WILD I had, I found myself just starring at a DC in the face in awe at how real they looked.

I'm not sure if I'm have LD's or if they're just HI's, because both of my dreams that I thought were LD's weren't very clear. I tried doing the hand rub trick but it didn't work.

I've had LDs that were more real than reality. I mean, the visuals were clearer, colors brighter, sounds clearer. If you give your environment your full attention, you can be rewarded with it being detailed enough to hold your full attention. If that makes sense

Reality and lucid dreams are very much different, in my opinion. Walking around in a lucid dream gives a far more different feeling than walking in real life. They just can't be compared to each other.

While the idea of a lucid dream might seem very much similar to that of reality, it not the same. However, lucid dreams are much "real" than normal dreams. It's an amazing feeling, knowing that you're dreaming, and that you are able to alter and guide your dreams the way you want to.

In a LD, it can look exactly like real life, even feel like real life.
But while dreaming you can do so much more. So, if your asking, "is this a good idea" or "is this worth it", the answer is yes.

DreamingAway's description is right on. It feels much more vivid and lifelike than a normal dream but there is a distinct difference between LD and reality.

For me, they feel unbelievably real. In a different sense. Waking Life seems so real because it's consistent, but a lucid dream feels real because it's so vivid and clear. In both cases you are literally seeing and feeling things, it's simply the origin of that stimulation that differs.
The Key is to combine your waking rational abilities with the infinite possibilities of your dreams, because if you can do that, you can do anything.
