And also, is it normal to dream in something other than full color? Most of the time when I am dreaming, everything seems like I am watching it through a yellow or orange filter.

I can only talk from personal experience but it all depends on luck regarding the visual "cohesiveness" of a dream. Some of my lucid dreams are very unstable and full of "black smudges", while others can be very visually stunning and be just like real life. To have the latter you have to use dream stabilization techniques:

yellow filter? Well so far you have had just the one LD right? and it was in a restaurant, that is indoor- so makes sense for the lighting to be that way. But not- dreams should be full color generally.
TAKE DV members advice with caution! some have had zero or 1-2 LD's yet act like gurus
      TOTAL LD's (almost all DILD/MILD) =160!!

Actually, I was just talking about dreams in general. Some of my dreams are in full color, some aren't. And as for the LD I just had, it was in full color, I believe, as I remember seeing red, black, brown, and blue.

Some of my dreams are very realistic, some of them are, like you said, strange colors. Though mine tend to be dark and blue and kind of shady, if they are memorably discolored. For me they are the minority, though. How good is your dream recall? Mine is pretty good, I've been cultivating it for most of my life, so maybe that is why mine are so much more realistic. But yea, as Yuri said stabilizing the dream can make it just as real as reality, and you'll be reality checking left and right to make sure

I can almost always remember a few parts from at least 2 dreams every night. It's very rare for me to have a night where I can't remember anything. I've been able to do this for as long as I can remember.
