      Question LD glympse

Last night I had a very brief LD. I was in the kitchen with my mom and just knew something was wrong. Pinched my nose twice just in case and I knew I was dreaming. I asked her:"Mom, do you know we're in a dream?" and after that I was kicked out of the dream and I just lied down with my eyes closed. I wasn't exited in the dream or anything so what other reasons are there for me being kicked out like that (accept a finished REM cycle - that's my only reasonable explanation) ?

when did you have the dream? if you had it early in the night it probably was the short REM dealies. I had a similar dream but I sorta lost focus then woke up. maybe something was on your mind? maybe your mum couldn't think of anything to say so your brain locked up?

The dream was in the morning but now that I think about it maybe by asking my mom (my dream mom created by my mind) "Do you know we're in a dream?" I kinda questioned my lucidity...

When you were "kicked out" did you actually wake up or did you just go into a different part of the dream? Most people find they become lucid towards the end of their dream, as that's when they're the closest to waking, so it's not unusual to wake up after becoming lucid. It just takes practice. The next time you find yourself in a dream, relax, enjoy the moment, and go off and do whatever you decide to do.

Congratulations on the brief LD! I wish you nothing but continued success

10x for the moral support. BTW I actually didn't wake up...well...I did but didn't get up...just lied down with my eyes closed (I should read the DEILD tutorial again ) thinking "Damn...so brief"

well, as amethyst said, i think it was just the end of the dream. a while ago i had a long normal dream, and i was in a bus at one point, then i realised i was dreaming, so i put on an iron man suit and flew for like 5 seconds and i woke up, just because i had wasted the whole start of the dream on non-lucidity, it was time for me to wake up at that moment. i think the same happened to you.

i hear that "dream spinning" extemds REM, i dunno, i heard that a while ago and im not sure if its true, same with rubbing hands together.

      cangrats anyway on becoming lucid.
