      Complete Beginner!

      Hi!

I've always been good at remembering dreams! Im 16 and i can rememeber a nightmare i had when I was 5, and had always spent ages talking to my sister about our various dreams. I've never really cared much for interpretation or anything like that, but thought of dreams as trivial mysteries that i encountered every night. All of my dreams are always incredibly random (the aforementioned dream was when my great uncle ,who had turned into Mr Freeze from Batman, was turning people into rice at the airport) but recently they have become alot more darker and serious. The other day i had a terrifying dream with Stephen King's IT in it, and at one point i thought to myself "Enough's Enough, Time To End This" and just like that, i knew i was dreaming and i shook head my head violently and woke up.

It then occured to me that i have often ended my dreams at my own will if they got too scary. That day, i rememebred what i read about Lucid Dreaming, something i dismissed as occult and unrealistic. As a man of science , I merely dismissed the whole idea, but it has now dawned on me that it is all science and psychology. I have spent the entire weekend reading on lucid dreams and i am soo excited in getting my first. I've never been patient in my life, but these seem like something that are worth working towards, and ill try all the different techniques i read. Anyway, that is how i came about lucid dreaming.

Im actually quite surprised that i have become so interested as i abide by the rules of Physics and Chemistry, and feel the mind is something too complicated to understand. I dont believe in any of that projection , out of body and enlightenment stuff, but i do believe in the tricks of the mind.

So anyway, as a COMPLETE beginner, im open to any suggestions or advice from you lovely people, thank you

      Hurm. Indeed.

Anyway, you do realize that you don't have to wake up when you realize you are dreaming in a nightmare, right? If you realize you are dreaming, it isn't too big of a logical leap to deduce that no monster can hurt you.
