      Cat?!?!?!?!

What do you do when you have a distraction in the room as you're trying to WILD?

10 minutes into trying to WILD my cat starts biting his paw and making a louder noise than licking himself. It was quite annoying to say the least. What should I have done, wait it out or give up and go to bed?

Well he's not always in my room early morning, he usually leaves by 1am.
Wouldn't getting out of bed and getting back in greatly reduce my chances of having my first WILD vs. just waiting it out and staying still?

and I wasn't specifically talking about cats. What about external distractions you can't control?

Loosen up a bit. I doubt these noises normally effect you while sleeping. If the noise is loud enough, it could rouse you from sleep, but you usually just fall back asleep (without even knowing you woke up).

Mimic this passive mentality as you WILD.

This is funny that you brought this up, I have had the same problem with my annoying cat, but she has actually helped me WILD

She digs at my carpet and will come by my head and purr extremely loud....needless to say she keeps me up. So I was trying to WILD one time and like you I get easily distracted. So I yelled at her a couple times and then through her out of my room, but she continued to dig at my door. So i get up again and this time, put her out on the porch. By now, I've been up for an hour of trying to WILD and deal with my cat. I lie in bed again, repeat my mantra and BOOM I saw swirls in front of me and soon was sucked into a dream scene. I had another WILD where I woke up in my room (under similar circumstances) and when I walked into my living room, my cat was half alien, so I knew I was dreaming

For me, it helps, because it keeps me awake but also relaxed and kind of asleep (if that makes sense) I do reccomend putting her in a crate or out of your room, but sometimes its that small distraction in the back of your head that will help WILD.

This reminds me... once I was trying to DEILD and I thought I might be in SP, so I tried to move my arm and I couldn't. Then I was confused because there wasn't any HH. Turns out my cat was on top of me.

Anyways, about your problem. If it's just the sound that gives you trouble, you could try wearing earplugs. I haven't tried WILDing with them, but they help me fall asleep when people are being too loud. It does hurt a bit if I lie on my side though.

That's a good idea; LD comics. Someone should do that. Someone who can draw better than me. ;P
