      Hi gang!

I'm Raj and an old newbie. What I mean is that I used to be able to have 2 to 3 lucid dreams a week, but due to some life upheavals I lost the ability. So I'm trying to get back on the lucid track, and one of the key things I think is to work on having a positive attitude and being mindful of the "reality" one creates on a daily basis. The movie "What The Bleep Do We Know?" addresses this issue, and I highly recommend it to all. As to WHY one would want to have a lucid dream . . . holy surabi cows: why would one NOT want to have a lucid dream? According to some schools of thought, when we are in the midst of a lucid dream, we're actually on a more subtle, astral plane - where all kinds of cool things can take place. I can share with you guys that my experiences on the "lucid network" were not just about WHAT happened . . . but HOW I FELT. In every single lucid dream, I experienced being totally loved and accepted by some Force or some Intelligence beyond my comprehesion . . . yet just as ordinary as apple pie. It was almost as if some of the beings I encountered in these dreams were saying, "Well, Raj. It's been so long. Stop being such a stranger and come around here more often." Hope I'm not sounding too airy, and the last thing that I want to say is that a support system is so very important, so I'll make it a point to stay in touch with everyone, and we can share ideas and bring each other up to higher ground.
      God Bless!

I want to be able to dream lucidly to be able to explore all the different things that I cant do in everyday life. Who wouldnt love it if they could fly, jump over buildings, and do whatever they wanted, with no consequence to the world on the other side of unconciousness?

I enjoy the fun and feeling of freedom from flying or swimming underwater in lucid dreams.

I want to experiment with using lucid dream for healing.

I believe that practicing lucid dream is a type of meditation that improves everyday awareness, relaxation, and openness.

The simplest answer I can give here would be: I want to learn how to control lucid dreams so I can do all the things there that I wouldn't dare to (or think to) do in my waking hours, both fun and not-so-fun. Flying or having confrontations with people, as long as I know what's going on and I can control it to some extent.

      =D

      it's fun~

      learn to make nothing...
from there, learn to make anything...
careful though, that's the tricky part. This is the real test of who you are, what you want.
When one gains the ability to see nothing and then turn it into anything,
One unlocks many desires and subconscious egotism locked deep away.

      Once youo can make anything,
what you make is who you are.
It is a real reflection of imaination.

You can imagine 1, you can imagine infinity.
You can imagine hope, you can imagine terror.
You can imagine angels, you can imagine demons.

      It is up to you.
      It is all there.

Imagine great things, and they will reflect in your waking life,
Careful for what you wish for, cafreful about what you think you need.

The Clairity of Lucid Dreams is a gift.

The ability to see with clairity and not fall into temptation and desire is real.

It must be treated with a light heart and a childs love.
HAve fun and enjoy the simplicity and beauty of the universe. ^^

This is my first post so I thought this would be a good place to start.
Why do I wand to lucid dream?
There are just too many things that I want to do, or experience that would be considered socially reprehensable. I will leave it at that and let you interpret it as you wish.
But I will say that the thought of doing whatever I want with no consequences makes me giggle with anticipation.

      No consequences ay? Interesting.......
Maybe you mean no forseeable consequences. There is still a lot a about the mind we do not know rememeber.

Anyways, I like the idea of Lucidity as being a gateway to your own world and creativeness.
I hope to gain a great amount of creativeness from my dreams, both lucid and non.
Also the fun aspect too! I want to FLY! It's possibly the coolest feeling ever, and I can't wait for a long LD so that I can just fly around everywhere for ages!

There are lots of good reasons for LDing, and as long as you are comfortable with how you use the ability then go for it!

I'd like to introduce myself, I've stumbled upon this community while "Google'ing" some more LD information. I was introduced to the idea of a LD while/after watching the movie "Waking Life", an independent film about life and it's meanings consequences etc. filmed with a trippy "cell shaded" like technique, and it's all about this guys entire LD during the movie.

I'm interested in all the LD offers, from the unlocked power of the sub-concious mind to the possible explorations of alternate realities and higher frequency "planes", past lives?, deceased relatives and famous people etc etc. Not to mention the FUN and SEX...

With a background in conspiracies, it's interesting to note the arrival of "sleep" drugs such as Ambien, Lunesta etc. which put people into dreamless sleeps (as I've heard).
Is there something the elite don't want us to know?

I haven't had a fully lucid dream in a long time, before I even knew what it was. And it was of me running around at the nearby park, and eventually flying, but only upon the uttering of a word which I cannot remember.

Now I'm off to read more of this interesting site and LD experiences

I first discovered Lucid Dreaming through my intense fascination of Psychology, especially dreaming. It's absolutely fascinating how the mind is able to create these images that seem so real to the person. It's terribly interesting.
I do have an alterior motives though. The main one is that I want to meet some Digimon. Another reason is that I just want to feel what it's like to be so free.

I stumbled into here out of curiosity when trying to find out if dreams could be controled.

My reason for lucid dreaming is to make life more interesting and to have a good reason to look forward to sleep. I've also always wanted to see a dragon in the flesh, sinse they don't exist(or do they?) this seems like the best way to see one.

I love dragons more than anything I can think of. Never understood why, but I love nature and animals, especially reptiles. I'm planning to get a pet snake when I leave school and start work.

Me too, that's awesome. Reptiles have always been my favorites, The made up Digimon I'm planning on recreating is called Herpetomon .

      Reasons for Lucid Dreaming

      Hi S.O.!

How about that lime-green Lunesta butterfly! I agree with you about the power structure: they want us to be as unaware as possible, good li'l doped-up worker bees. I 'm not a heavy-duty conspiracy kind of guy - although I keep an open mind about things - but on the subject of the power-elite, I read a story (forgot just where) about the CIA actually networking with psychics and mediums . . . the gist of the story being that agents would follow people who had their final OOBE (in other words, the cat kicked the bucket), and who were in possession of sensitive information. These CIA'ers would then "debrief" these people. Albeit it does sound somewhat of a stretch, but a point is made: "They" (the power elite) seem to want to control all aspects of our lives - even the leaving! mean, my God. Let the poor bastard depart and move on in peace! Read the novel '1984' where the hero, Winston Smith's lover, Julia has a simple, straightforward take on things: "You want to have a good time, and they (the ruling class, in this case The Party) want to stop you."

Dream on, S.O. ! & Good luck with your lucid dream practice. I STILL think the Lunesta butterfly is cool . . . maybe we can meet this guy in a dream and bring him over to our side.

The outcome of the fight is whatever your belief is in real life.. Right?

Well, I think lucid dreaming would be really cool. Reason #1 is the one. But would it be real?

Essentially, it's because forgotten memories are often forgotten for a reason. Like a traumatic experience that you aren't ready to deal with, psychologically.
Unravelling such a thing too early and without assistance can be seriously damaging to your psyche.
Of course, this only applies to those with something they're hiding from themselves
