Has anyone had some pretty erotic dreams?[/b]
I can't speak for lucid dreams, because I've only had two so far, but non-lucid - definitely. I can remember my first one when I was still a teenager and it was - wow.

The great thing about dream sex is, you don't have all the ackwardness that comes with real life sex. And if you have any fears about sex, you can overcome those in dreams. Same goes for just about anything with that - I've overcome quite a bit of stage fright by "acting" in dreams. That's always the best.

IMO, there are so many reasons for lucid dreaming, it would take a book to list them all. Maybe just practicing a tough conversation you have to have one someone eventually? Or skydiving because doing it in real life would terrify you. As a writer, I've always liked the idea of entering the worlds I create and meeting my characters. What better way to get to know someone in your story than having a heart to hear with them!

Ugh. I can't wait for my next lucid. Hope I get the time soon (damned early mornings).

      2 Lucid Dreams and counting!

I am a bit awkward about being touched by guys, but I do so agree w/the rest of your reasons except for number 4. They are just so darn fun, especially when you share a dream or have a sci-fi...wow! The possibilties

Well, I'm new here, and this is my first post, so please bear with me My name is Griselle and I'm a college student from Florida. I've always had a great interest in dreams in general.
My first LD was maybe 3 years go. This was before I was even familiar with the term LD. And basically it started off as a nightware, and I remember I was extremely scared and then I just had an epiphany. I was like these things dont happen in real life. And as soon as that thought crossed my mind I wasnt scared anymore and all the monsters and such that were scaring me dissapeared. Unfortunately, soon after the realization I woke up.
From that point on I started to think all the possibilities that present themselves in dreams when one is in a conscious state. And so every night I hoped to be able to have another LD. And eventually I did. I've had several since then, all of them DILDs. But for some reason they are all pretty much the same. I become aware, and then I have Sex. At first it was great, because I could fulfill so many fantasies and well it's just such a euphoric experience. I would think of somebody.. and they would appear in my dream and well it was so much fun.
But I wish to have LDs where I dont just have sex. I've tried to have flying lucid dreams and such but they seem too difficult for me to achieve. Just last night I was trying to prepare myself to have a LD where i dont just have lots of sex, but one where i get to travel, talk to people, etc. I became aware during the course of the dream, and ended up having another sex dream. I'm not sure if it's because I tend to be aroused at nighttime or because I'm just doing something wrong. But it seems as though, everytime I become conscious that I'm dreaming, all I want at the moment is to have sex.
Apart from that, I've been able to change scenery at will, and levitate from the ground (but not fly around )

what i expect from lucid dreaming is
-to trigger that part of my brain where my musical/visual creativity is locked so i'd have more ideas...
      -improve certain skills
      -search for wisdom
mainly but of course i want to have some fun...i want to program my brain to be more efficient...

prob the top reason is i had one before without initiating it and want another. the other is: i know a guy that reallllllyyyy annoys me and i wouldn't mind "accidently" stabbing him in a dream.
trying to put out the blaze with dewdrops
if you see another bobsworth on the net it's probably me (btw actually tell me if you do know me on a different site. it'll be fun!)

      Yeah, I did that ....

Anyway, I used to have LDs all of the time. It's been a while since I've had one though, and so I've decided to get back into that. When I was younger, I used watch Star Trek - you know - the series with the halodec (i don't know how to spell that).

Anyway, I think that was my favorite part of the entire show - the halodec. I always used to think that it was be so awesome to be in a place where you could do anything you wanted and not have to worry about the consequences.

Also, I'd like to be able to control my dreams because I feel that any form of self control and self mastery are admirable. I believe that the more you can control in your own mind and life, the more powerful a person you can become. So, anyway, I'm hoping to train my mind again so I do this thang!

I haven't had a true lucid dream YET. But I would like to have them in order to explore the different peculiarities of the dream world. Also it would simply be a blast to be able to try dreamscaping.

I lucid dream for the same self discovery/fun reasons as everyone else but i think what really got me into it enough to put in the effort to learn in the first place was that i consider it like the ultimate video game. I always imagined realistic games where everything felt real and wondered how many decades it would be before i could experience something like them. Once i learned to LD it was even more than i imagined it would be.

      my reasons for ld

I lucid dream mainly for the hyper-real sensation of it, but lately i have been having trouble doing it, since my last lucid dream was a few months ago. IF i could lucid dream right now, i would want to experiment with stuff in the dream that you cant do in real life, like doing experiments with pain, flying, slowing down time, having dream fights, trying to shared lucid dream, and so on. i also like the possibilities of doing anything, which is my other main reason for wanting to lucid dream. and then after i would be done with all that stuff, i would mess around in my dream doing crazy stuff.

So far my favorite thing about lucid dreaming is not the activity itself, but the ways that I have to improve myself to do it . I used to let myself get upset about things and worry all the time, but lucidity training has given me a reason to avoid this. It gives me a reason to not put off my work, since this creates situations in which lucidity is more difficult. I have learned how to actually RELAX. I have been just starting to learn about self-improvement and concentration over the last two years, but I had never really had something to really motivate me do put it to use.

However, once I get better at retaining lucidity, I will do the things listed in the posts above in this thread and they may change my life in even better ways .

I think the most appealing reason for lucid dreaming is the fact that anything is possible. All the time I'll be going through life and I'll think to myself "boy I'd love to be flying or doing some extremely fun activity right now". Sometimes I'll be reading a book or watching a movie and I'll wish I could go in and hang out with the characters. All sorts of experiences suddenly become available when you're a lucid dreamer!

Also, another reason I've thought of is the secret identity complex. Every so often I'll look around and think to myself, "How many of these people have flown? Or done the impossible?". It's not a huge deal but it's kind of a cool feeling to realize that as a lucid dreamer, you go through experiences which are almost from another "secret" life.

Wow, those are pretty stupid sounding when I type them out like that. But they make sense to me and that's all that counts I guess.

Nah they dont sound stupid i think the exact same way you do. At least you dont go around in your dreams in your own little action hero movie and do all of the Dragonball Z moves you can think of against your arch nemesis. Or do you....

To the couple of you I have PMed alreday with some of the same info, I apoligize, as I am repeating it here along with more detail.

I am a little nervous sharing some of this, so that is my excuse for you two.

Being new , I just had to respond about the shared dreams, as I (we) have had them.

Our son, is so very interested in more lucid dreams I am very happy.

I mentioned "spinning himself to sleep" not so many months back to him, and he suceeded in flying 2-5 times now, and after some more advice he can control what goes on if he remembers to apply the method at sleep time.

We have shared a dream, in seperate rooms, where I rescued him from something very evil, coming from the same spot in thge wall, of our 100 plus year old home. he was being forced to cut himself to pieces by this force and I came in and stopped it using statements from our Christian beliefs.

After waking up instantly, (both of us) I went to his room, and asked if he was dreaming etc, and he tod me about it, blow by blow, he pointed to the same spot in the wall, and I had him walk over to it and touch it to verify the accuracy of this shared dream.

That was very , very, strange!

Now that I think of it, we lived in another house (very old also) that had a spot in the floor that actually felt to burn my feet.

We prayed together and rebuked all evil. (I have agnostic friends as well, and please I am in no way wanting to get into religion her I promise you)

Well when we did this a very large punch bowl on the counter levitated and exploded , shards of glass were stuck in the back door fram in the kitchen we were in.

Very freaky. I am sorry to get off topic, I just wanted to share as I am new and I probably haven't again posted in the right place, but shared dreams are very interesting to me, after experiencing them, without trying at all.

My wife and I have shared dreams, only twice though.

But these events tells me that we certainly can develope the abiltiies we have much further through your forum.

With my health my memory is fading , and I am teaching my son with home schooling, which my wife is unable to do.
I am also teaching him guitar which I have forgotten so much of, but he is really taking off at.

I guess I will do some searching as soon as I can get some more time , on learning more about memory retrieval, also and especially for my wife as she can not even remember ever being pregnant or giving birth to our son, for over 4 months now after a seizure/stroke like episode.

Some things came back after the last seizure but never the main thing,to her, his biryth and her pregnancy etc.

If any one has links handy for posts on that please PM me.
I have not much time, and am ill myself, and must care for her and home schooling our son, and I could whine off a million things, but I will not.

I know we are pathetic, but I feel a warmth here I have not felt in a very long time.

Having some friends would be very nice fopr a change.

When someone is ill, it seems family, most and all friends just eventually want to forget all about you, because they cant' deal with what they see and hear, with my wife sometimes.

Thank you all so very much for putting up with my added whining. I am sorry for it, but thought I could explain my clumsiness at posting here, and my lack of time to search , and search, as I just can't do it right now, and I never know what to expect with my wife.

      Thanks for tolerating me

Hello, everyone. I stumbled upon this site in sudden curiosity of lucidity and otehr dream related practices, and I must say, I am very impressed with this community! I'd lov to be part of it. Last night, I begun my journey to become an efficient lucid dreamer. I haven't had anything spectacular yet, as expected, but I was able to wake up after every dream in order to record it. (I never wake up in the night, normally. I normally sleep from night to morning) So I consider that a small victory and a big step toward my destination. I plan to stay on this path and I see this place as a nice place to share my experiences and listen to others' experiences as well. (I absolutely love reading about the experienced LDers' times and experiences.)
That's a bit about me. Glad to be here. Thank you.

I'm doing it for the fun, full stop.

The freedom that Lucid Dreaming grants you is amazing. "Here is a world. Now, go and do whatever you want". How cool is that?

I do it for the fun of doing things i cannot do in the real world, but with real world conditions ( with a few powers ) I love to explore and just discover new places and walk aroudn to inspect them and see how amazingly beautiful they are. So in my LDs i cna go to places that are nto beyond my wildest dreams, hehe wlel i guess some are, but if your in a dream, its ahrd ot use that expression.

      Umm...how about....

Besides all the good reasons already mentioned here, I'm here because I want to rediscover something I stumbled on years ago--healing via lucid dreams. Heck, this may well be an undiscovered source of human potential not yet recognized. Can you imagine if the old art of dreamin for healing's sake--as in the dreaming temples of ancient Greece--ever made it into our healthcare system? The possibilities are staggering.

You see, I made a rapid recovery out of a lucid dream once and would really love to share experiences and ideas with anyone else who has experimented with this aspect of LD.
