Just sounds like you didn't have vivid lucids, try the stabilization technique?

But literally nothing changed at the realization that I was dreaming, except that the resistence to my running decreased. I agree with Mariano, that it was a false lucid dream.

Do stabilization techniques switch on consciousness, or only help switch it on? I need to find a way to switch on my consciousness in the case of a false lucid.

LD doesn't come with perfect clairity or conciousness, much less control, just knowing may change nothing depending on which the situation is, it happens to me and it is still a LD since I know I'm dreaming. I just call when that happens being stupid lucid.
The problem I say again, would be the level of lucidity rather than it not being a lucid, which is the thing that the clairity techniques should help for.
Oh right, conciousness effect on dreams depends on the person, so it may do nothing for you to be fully concious <.<

Could be right, and I'm planning on trying the stabilization techniques. However, I still maintain that it wasn't a lucid dream. It just didn't.. feel.. right.

stabilization techniques, as I know, stabilize the dream, making it more vivid.
when you stabilize, you become more present in the dream, like when you are in real life and decide to become aware of what's around you.
I still think is not aware on dreams. just....near that.
walms, I think that you are a very very experience lucid dreamer, and that's why doesn't change too much, because it doesn't surprise you.

robotgymnast, how do you live your life?
      are you in the moment?
what's in your mind when you are in your waking life?

Hm, I wonder if once you woke up, the dream started to fade and feel less of a lucid and more of a non-lucid?
And being stupid lucid is a big surprise for me, it always messes up my dreams and makes it far, far less interesting... silly changes <.< "hates"

my mind? Right now, it's pretty blank. I just watch stuff and play games for the most part over the summer. During school, or when I'm focused, it's usually bouncing with algorithms or something.

      why?

No, once I woke up, NOTHING changed. It didn't feel less clear, more clear, or any different at all. Everything was the same, just as if I'd thought "I'm awake" in reality; it had no real effect.

Oh then it may have been a false lucid. Its just that many people tie it with bad recall <.<
And thats why I never say I'm dreaming but just think it, for me thoughts are much stronger than just saying stuff. I agree with mariano, go for awareness in WL.

I think I thought "I'm dreaming" and then started saying things alloud because some tutorial said to. Uh what does WL stand for? I'm a newb xD.

Now, assuming I'm in a false lucid, but I do realize that I'm dreaming, is there a way to wake up my consciousness? Apparently the realization and RCing failed, so what are some alternate methods? Do stabilization techniques help wake up consciousness from a false lucid?
