Thread: How did you first start realising your dreaming?

Hey, welcome to Dream Views.

And the weirdest dream I've been lucid in was when I was walking around in my room and I could hear someone breathing (probably myself breathing in real life) and all the walls were melty. I suddenly found myself in my bed and realized I was dreaming. When I found I couldn't move, so when I tried I ended up waking myself up. So lame, but what can you do? Anyway, that's life I suppose.

I remember probably my first LD when I was about seven years old. I was over my grandparents and I was sleeping in between of them. Suddenly, the ceiling started to move and melt. I also heard clucking sound, which I thought was the stuffed bird they had in their living room. After while, I thought suddenly that what if this is all dream, thus becoming lucid.

I think that was a spontanius WILD and I still wish I had a thing like that. After that I trained hard to become good in WILDing

Some other situations have been too. For example, I have seen in dream that my real body is sleeping or heard my snoring like the earlier poster. It is quite confusing feeling

Have you been performing reality checks in real life? And for how long? It'll take a couple weeks to a couple months before reality checking behavior leaks into your dreams.

I guess my weirdest lucid dream would be the one where I found a laboratory behind my shower curtain. . .

Cooool.

For some reason, I always become lucid spontaneously. I don't see anything in particular that makes me think "I'M DREAMING!", I just come out of nowhere with that conclusion, and then only in a couple doing RC's. Which is pretty nice, but I'd get more LD's if I was triggered by things. *shrug*

Ehh, my weirdest lucid dream...the one where I tried to summon a man and got a robot instead, and it wanted to self-destruct. D:

by random accident. It was over 4 years ago! I was having a dream about black cats trying to kill me, and they were coming through the crack in the bottom of the door. I thought this was strange and told myself this has to be a dream. I realized that fact, and kept telling myself to wake up. I also kept punching myself in the head (inside my dream) to try to wake myself up. I believe when I awoke I may even have hit myself in the head once, not quite sure lol

Funny... my first lucid (which lasted a few seconds so I don't count it) was about these giant tigers trying to kill me.

My first LD was this morning And i realised i was dreaming by being able to fly. But i was kind of half lucid before that somehow. Maybe i was close to the end of a REM cycle, but i don't know much about these things tho.

Yeah, it seems that for almost every dream, I seem to be partially lucid. Only in the sense that if it goes sour I have the ability to wake myself up, yet it is a different thing all together to bring that awareness into the dream.

And congrats on your first lucid, Xegar.

So far I haven't noticed a pattern or certain signs, it's very random for me. I've had lucid dreams about six or seven times that I can think of.
The wierdest lucid experience I had... (it was a long time ago) I think was when I was standing in a hotel room, getting ready for something fancy i think. Then poof I realized it was a dream. So I thought, "Maybe I'll summon a faery to communicate with... No I need more education so not yet. How about a hot guy." (Lol, that's how 13 year old girls think.) So then this ghost-like kid jumps out of this closet and stares at me (I now recognize him from a horror movie preview, but he also had fangs and small black wings in my dream). I can't remember what I did after that, but it was wierd. =P

stuck between the giant sphinx in my backyard and playing CTF with nicktoon characters xD

My first lucid was at the end of a really long dream where I was on an African safari/jungle exploration team. My spayed cat had a kitten.

Weirdest one? Hmm... Well, once I dreamed there were giant flying walruses at my school. Then I went to the wrong class and that was what made me lucid. =P

I realized I was dreaming when I was really young when I had weird dreams of ren and stimpy.... I was very intensely scared of them when I was young XD
My most weirdest LD um, I was a snail in a snail race and someone threw salt at me. I realized I was dreaming right when it happened, when I annalyzed I was a snail; but I just didn't bother with anything and wanted to see what would happen if I just let my mind linger on with the thought. And so I died of a horrible salt accident. But it was funny as hell!
