Talking Greetings from the Fonzy =]

Hah, I always love introducing myself on forums - so I'll just get straight to the point:

      Hi!

Well enough of that then, I might as well go into some details then should I? So then, as you might have guessed - I am new to the whole Lucid Dream experience. Unfortunately I am yet to experience one yet (well I probably have had one in the past without realising this, since my dream recall used to be terrible) but I am patient and very persistent in my new endeavors.

I've been doing quite a bit of research in the past few days. I have been well aware of lucid dreaming for over a year - but it was just a vague little interest. I seemed to have the stupid idea that I would never be able to do it.

However, certain events that have come to pass in the last few months have caused me to turn to lucid dreaming. I won't go into the exact details just yet, but it has caused me to question my identity to some extent. I'm hoping to gain some kind of knowledge of myself to help me come to terms with the things that have happened. [sorry about the ambigious nature of this, but I will say what they are when the time is right]

So yeah here I am, joining this dreaming community. I hope my lengthy greeting didn't bore you too much. On a side note - after practicing some very simple techniques, my dream recall has suddenly shot up to 1 dream a night. So progress is good. I await my first Lucid dream with much excitement and I'll of course tell you all.

Welcome to Dreamviews! Improving your recall is great progress. Just keep working at it and soon enough you will be able to recall more and more dreams every night. Remember, the more dreams you have, the better the odds of becoming lucid. Good Luck to you!

Argh, actually in the last few days my dream recall has gone back to 0. I've had a stressful week though, so I've been forgetting to do RCs as well as things to get my dream recall up. Looks like I'll have to start from scratch again.

Stress can hamper recall by itself. Its all good though. It is common for dream recall to come and go. Just keep working at it and you will be fine!

Nice to meet you! You said that you have an idea that you will never have one. Chang your mind. Confidence is the key! If you don't believe it is less likely it will happen.

I think I did it! I'm not entirely sure though. I had a long, epic and vivid dream last night. About midway through - I remember just suddenly having the desire to check my hands. After checking them I noticed they were all warped. I then realised 'woah, this is a dream'. I felt suddenly very aware and decided to check my hands again, and they were messed up like before. However, this only lasted a few seconds because I got a bit excited, then I experenced a false awakening and continued the dream as normal.

It was only for literally 10 seconds, but do you think this counts? I remember it ever so clearly - it was amazing.

Welcome to one of the best places to talk about lucid dreaming and learn it. Don't worry about your dream recall that usually seems to go up and down for the first few weeks of recording(at least for me). I believe it tends to steady out though.

Yeah, it absolutely counts. It was just a short one. FAs happen all the time in LDs, so it would be a good idea to do an RC every time you wake up. Congratulations btw!

Thanks! I'm a little bit surprised that it happended to be honest. I mean, I've not been RCing as much or writing my dreams down for about 3 days. I guess sometimes they just come out of nowhere I suppose.

Congrats! Now you're on your way to Lucids all of the time! (And I have to agree; you will bust FA's if you RC when you wake up. It's a good habit to cultivate.)
      ...And then to dream...
