      Unhappy good swim dreams gone

SORTA new here-haven't been here in a few weeks-lots of stuff going on and had no time. Funny though- ever since I've joined this site I haven't been able to get my good swim dreams.(just the scary ones) Am I trying too hard?

It's impossible to say if you've been trying too hard without knowing what you've been trying to do. I'm assuming you're trying to become lucid. Or are you just trying to induce a dream about a particular subject? In general, what you expect to happen is what will happen. Say, for example, that someone is afraid to look into mirrors because they heard that the reflection will be scary. If they stress about it before going to bed, chances are they will have a dream where they look into a mirror and there will be something scary about it. Do you think that same idea could be applied to your situation, or is your problem unrelated?

      Oh, and welcome to DV.

Hidden pretty much hit the nail on the head.

Either expect to have a good dream about swimming, or don't worry about having a bad one. Shift your focus and the dreams will change accordingly.

I'd like to take a moment to say that I love being told I'm right. xP

I would add something more useful to that, but I really have nothing else to say until the OP replies. ^^

Interesting... every once in a while I get swimming dreams. They are always postive. Like, I'm underwater, not wet, not dirty, and can breathe. I'm sorry that you're swimming dreams haven't been positive.
If you see a strange typo in my post, blame my iPad for that.

By lots of stuff, I assume that you mean school? Use school to your advantage, lots of new things again, so every time that you see someone that you haven't seen in a while or do something that you haven't done in a while, do a reality check. When I was in college I always remember a large spike in my lucid drams in late august and september.

      Unhappy swim dreams-not yet...

Thanks for the input everyone! I think I was just trying too hard and thinking too much. NOW I have an inner ear infection that makes it IMPOSSIBLE to lay on my back without getting extremely dizzy-so-need to wait untill THAT is cleared up! Still trying to differentiate between all of these terms, & I don't get here often. p.s."NINJA"-I'm WAY past my college years-
