I guess you just need to try it over and over |
|
Last night I set my alarm to go off 5 hours after going to bed, and after 7 seconds turn itslef off. It woke me up during a dream and I was able to keep my eyes closed and not move. I got really exited since it was the first time I was able to do so, and my heart started pumping really hard, I could feel the blood rushing through my veins. The reason I got so exited was because I thought I would be able to lucid dream right away, but I think this exitement made me too counscious/awake and couldn't DEILD. Any tips for tomorrow, so this doesn't happen again? |

Make sure you are keeping perfectly still and keep your eyes closed. Take deep slow breaths to try and keep yourself calm. Make sure your alarm isn't too loud, so it doesn't startle you awake/wake you abruptly. Turn up just loud enough to wake you up in a more gradual manner. |

Lol, so I tried again this morning, but before falling asleep I repeated a mantra so I wouldn't be too startled when I wake up, it was "I wont get too exited when my alarm goes off". I think my subconscious took it way too serious, and I didn't even wake up when my alarm went off. |

Bollocks.
That may be, but I strongly suggest NOT moving. I have a 90%+ success rate with DEILD with not moving and remaining calm and collected. I have no doubts that moving would lower my success rate. I definately do not recommend getting up, walking to the bathroom, and then DEILDing, lol. Firstly Andres, I would stick to the basics. Once you get a few DEILDs under your belt then you can alter your technique to find what is best for you. |

what kind of alarm turns itself off in 7 seconds? |
|
That is true, however I never said to worry. After waking from sleep, it is very easy not to move and brings no worries. In my experience DEILDs take a minute or less to re-enter the dream on average. No need to worry about not moving for a single minute. DEILD is a simple procedure with a high success rate, even higher if you do not move, but stay calm and relaxed. You do know that moving, tenses/flexes/uses muscles don't you? I would say while moving, your muscles aren't very relaxed now are they? You do not HAVE to remain still, but I recommend it. Especially for your first few times. |

I made a mp3 file which is 4 hours 30 minutes no sounds, then an alarm for 7 seconds, then it goes no sound for 30 more minutes, and then the alarm goes off again for 7 seconds. I used windows movie maker, and just recorded the sound of my ipod touch alarm on my computer (for 7 seconds) and added to it. |

Yes of course. I am not disagreeing with that. I just know that a lot of people will move a little, then decided that it is a lost cause. Losing a good chance at a DEILD. |
