      REM sleep

      Hey,

I just started writing down how late I woke up every morning (I wake up several times). I wrote down the first time I woke up for several days (I woke up from a dream), and the times were about the same around 3.30 AM, so I wondered is this like a constant schedule or does it change with how late you go to bed? Because this is helpful for achieving a DEILD.

well, if you wake up at the same time good for you- I use an alarm so as not to miss waking up

I would guess that if you stayed up later than normal that you probably wouldn't wake at the same time. It is good that you wake up on your own. I actually wake up on my own throughout the night as well. It is usually around 5 hours after I fall asleep no matter what time I fall asleep. However, if I am overly tired, I usually sleep through my natural awakenings. Your body can absolutely be trained to wake up on its own, though it may not be the most reliable. I can remember consistently waking up just before my alarm went off whenever I used to WBTB with my alarm clock. Soon after, I stopped using my alarm because I was waking anyway. Good Luck in your future efforts!
