      Sleep Paralysis question..

So, my friend told me he had a nightmare in which a creepy old lady was trying to kill him and he couldn't move. He then woke up but couldn't move (SP I guess), and felt like the old lady was behind him, slowly moving towards him, to the point where he felt a numbing cold go through his back (he thought it was the old lady leaning on top of him or something like that) and at this point he really freaked out and could finally move. (he also mentioned that while he was "awake", he had some weird visions in which the old creepy lady was staring at him, can these be HI?)

This morning I tried DEILD and started feeling SP, my mind started wandering around, and I kinda controlled my hallucinations, I don't know why but I thought of myself going to the bathroom and brushing my teeth (I could taste the toothpaste, but I was still in bed) Then all went black, and I was there on my bed not being able to move, then I knew SP had kicked in. I suddenly felt a numbing cold running through my back (just like my friend had described it) and heard the sound of the shadow hands from zelda made (ocarina of time, forest temple, remember? the creepy ones that formed a shadow under you and pulled you out of the temple). At this point I started to freak out but decided to stay calm and imagine myself somewhere else, I did and that's when my lucid dream started

      Err... my question is:
Is it normal to feel that sudden cold running through your back when getting SP? and also, My friend had HI's of a creepy old lady, mine were about the creepy Zelda hands... are these possibly related to a childhood fear?

More than likely it is actually the shadow people or "the old hag." The most common scary hallucination. Superstitious people might say it is some sort of spirit you are tapping into through the sleep state. It is probably just a very natural hallucination, though, and nothing more.

As far as the cold feeling, I've had it a hundred thousand times. Usually the cold feeling doesn't come and frighten you but instead you are already frightened and that is why you feel the cold feeling.

Remember that LDing doesn't make SP happen more often. Instead you are more aware of it. Approach SP curiously with a scientific mind.

Your friend was just thinking of the old lady and so the HH reflected it. Pretty standard stuff, actually.

Alright, so the cold feeling is normal then ,
and yeah, I tried not to mind too much about my HI's, after all they are not real, but I got pretty scared and decided to imagine myself anywhere but in my bed, then my lucid dream started

Good job transitioning it to a lucid dream. The creepy presence in the room, feeling of cold, and paralysis are all somehow linked. They are textbook Sleep Paralysis symptoms. Have you read up on "Old Hag?" I'm still convinced this experience is the basis for many alien abduction experiences and hauntings.

      Thank you !!
At first I was gonna move (probably tried to, but SP didn't let me), so I got myself together and thought "I'm anywhere, but in my bed" and next thing I know I was watching myself, standing outside of one of my classrooms, then I kinda stepped int my body, knowing I was in a dream.

Yes, I was wondering how they were all related, or if they were all part of SP so decided to wikipedia it
I found that HH's (which include HI's, HS's and other kind of hallucinations) are not part of SP, but most of the times come with it.

Yup, I read about it yesterday, it's kinda creepy, but then, if you know that they are just hallucinations and there is no such thing as an old creepy woman sitting in your chest, making you have nightmares then you should be able to overcome it . About the alien abduction experiences, I also read that SP+HH's are most likely the causes of people believing they were abducted by aliens, however I'm also convinced that aliens do exist, I mean, the universe is pretty big x)
