      Questions about WILDS

      Hey there!
I'm new to lucid dreaming, so I have a few questions about WILDS
I heard that you had to have slept for 5-6 hours, stay awake, then fall asleep again. However, I felt like it was about to happen to me last night. I felt my body falling asleep, but my mind was fully in control. I felt my body start tingling wildly too.
Can you produce a WILD without falling asleep and waking up again?
Also, is it true that you hallucinate during WILDS? If you do, how real are they on a scale from one to ten? 'Cause I'm sort of afraid of trying one. Thanks in advance
      Goals:
      Attain a Lucid: Completed 12/4/09
Summon Something: It was a flying invisible car! Completed 12/16/09
      Teleport myself into a book

fly, either on something I summoned or by myself: Completed 12/16/09
Breath underwater or become a mermaid

WILDing at the start of the night is possible but very difficult. You should only attempt it when you're experienced with WILD.

During Sleep Paralysis, a stage of WILD, you can see Hypnagogic imagery. Some people see it, some people don't. It doesn't have to be visual, it can be any of the senses. I've heard there very realistic, but I've never experienced anything.

You don't have to go to sleep and then wake up, which is called WBTB (Wake-Back-To-Bed). You can do it before going to sleep but it can take about 2 hours of attempting to WILD untill you get into a lucid, but REM sleep (which is the time that we dream) gets longer the more you have slept so if you do it straight off then the dream will not be very long and it won't be very clear either.

Some people do hallucinate during WILDs, most people however, get colours and shapes. I personally just get the dream come up in front of my eyes in third person. The hallucinations can be very vivid or not, most of lucid dreaming varies upon the person. I would try if I were you because like I said, it varies and you might not get any of the bad hallucinations that can't harm you in any way even if you did.

      Hehe...Thanks!
I've always wanted to be in Lord of the Flies just so I could go around flirting with Ralph and smack some sense into Jack. Of course, if you've never read the book you wouldn't know what I'm talking about. Either that or Harry Potter. Hanging out with the Weaslys would be the bomb

Hey Toasty, welcome to DV. ^_^
It is possible to WILD without falling asleep first (WBTB method); however, it can be more difficult because you have been active and moving around for a long period of time. Hallucinations-wise, I've gone through some pretty scary shit, mostly tactile (feelings). I say this alot, but I imagine looking at myself through another person's point of view: they'd see me curled up in my bed, asleep and completely calm. That helps me beat the realism of the hallucinations. I'd say they're a 9.
We all live in a kind of continuous dream. When we wake, it is because something,
some event, some pinprick even, disturbs the edges of what we have taken as reality.
