Should I have my eyes closed when i'm in SP?

When i'm trying to enter SP, and reaches it, should my eyes be open or shut?

Do I see hallusinations through my closed eyes?

      SHUT!

You may see hypnogagic imagery, which happens directly before a dream. Basically instead of just imagining it you can actually see it.

      Then you fall asleep.

      I never get HI though..

      Ok, thanks

Have been reading about people seeing things in their room and stuff, so I thought I needed my eyes to be open to see things that clearly

That's sleep paralysis when you wake up and you have no idea what's going on. That's a psychological thing from fear when they try to move and they cant.

During Sleep Paralysis you can open your eyes and look around, and people who are in sleep paralysis can accurately report on the environment around them.

Hallucinations can and do sometimes occur with sleep paralysis- only some of them are visual. They don't always happen, though.

Fear also does not always accompany sleep paralysis. Feelings of euphoria are also common, especially with certain types of hallucinations.

I'm not sure what the 'psychological thing' being referred to is, but yes sleep paralysis can occur when falling asleep and, more commonly, when waking up. Waking up into sleep paralysis doesn't mean that you don't know what's going on. You could be lying in bed thinking, "Wow I've just woken up and can't move, I'm experiencing sleep paralysis."

I had SP tonight and I kept my eyes wide open for a while, to see what is going on around
Just like Shift said, fear does'nt necessarily accompany SP, sometimes you find it weird/funny to know that you can't move a muscle
      ....have a lucid dream tonight...

It is best not to, if there is a chance you might frighten yourself by doing this, than I guess it is not woth it.
I have had pretty scary acoustic hallucinations, but then I started to ignore the enviroment and focus on myself.
It helped though I am still a wuss, I don't open my eyes even now.

I was unable to attain SP, keep visualizing or scene, or even recall dreams last night.

I guess it helps if you're relaxed. Don't watch a movie before bed. :p

My head feels pretty relaxed after a couple of hours with browsing the Internet, with no other light than the PC-screen

I read here someplace that it's almost impossible to get a WILD if you try when you go to bed (for the first time that night). So when i'm entering SP (thats not the almost impossible part, right), do I just continue being in SP, waiting for that dream that never comes?

You're doing well Jarrhead. I've had no success in Lucidness since my first proper one. Every night i've been trying to gain Sp.

So far im unsuccessfull because i just give up... literally waiting for an hour, counting my breaths. I can kind of feel my hands go numb, almost like its not there at all but other than that, no real feeling

How do you usually go through the motions Jarhead from getting into bed to gaining sp? and how tired are you usually when you do this? Do you focus on the darkness you're seeing, the backs of your eyelids?

Any help would be much appreciated!!

As tired as I am when I go to bed. Sometimes I am, usually not.

I don't focus on my eyes at all. Actually, sometimes I'll realize they've been partially open for quite a while but I paid no attention. I just keep visualizing a scene of a dream i'd like to be in OVER and OVER and OVER again until i'm out. No focus on breathing, HI, or anything.

If your mind is relaxed, like if you're just on DV for the last hour, then it'll work fine. However, I watched Avatar again last night and got all shot up with adrenaline. Never fails.

I don't get HI. My SP is just numbness. I thougt my arms had dissapeared last night!

Yes, it is. You'll be knocked out in 20 seconds or so if you don't move. Just one or two scene plays and BAM, you're lucid.

Is eyes moving really fast (twitching), a sign of that you are about to enter SP?

I've read in a WILD guide that you shouldn't focus to much on one though, cause that might bring you out of SP. Isn't this kind of what you're doing when you're visualizing a scene over and over?
Or doesn't it work that way?

I dont care if I get SP or not, I only care if my desired dream is logged in my subconscious and I will dream it.

      Cool method
And are those dreams lucid from the start or do you become lucid in the middle of the dream?

Usually from the start. I had replayed a scene from the movie where she says "This is a place for prayers to be heard, sometimes answered. This is where you may also choose a woman."

      Except, she says..

"This is where you may also do a reality check."

And I just keep replaying it. I have her voice and everything about that movie burnt into my head so it's pretty simple for me!

Nice! I'll try this. Last night I missed so many chances to become lucid. I was standing on a cliff overlooking the sea. Water seems to be a dream sign! The cliff started bending as if it was a sheet of plastic. I questioned it twice but concluded it was reality... doh!!
