Real people?

I've read in a few places on this forum that Dream Characters are rarely, if ever, images of real people. Is it weird that in my dreams, they always look like real people I know? (Though they certainly don't act like them... they always seem sort of clueless as to their location, and just kind of happy and nonsensical when i ask them anything) In my last lucid dream, a few months ago, i met my mother, that evil girl from those "The Ring" trailers, a deaf friend, and my brother. My brother's the only one who gave me a straight answer upon questioning, which was as such: "Why are you in my dream?" "I'm in a dream?" "Yes you are." "Oh." *Walks out front door, I trip and wake up as soon as I begin to follow*

I often recognize people in my dreams, but upon closer inspection, I realize they bear little resemblance to their real life counterparts. I just assume they are someone familiar, even though they may not look like them or even act like them. It is like my brain just brings up that familiar schemata, without really filling in all the details. It might be a fun to experiment with this is it interests you. Next time you are lucid, find a dream character to inspect and interrogate. See how closely they resemble their real life counterpart.

Naw, I don't think it's weird. Often, my dream characters will look like real people, too (though when I'm lucid, I generally see new characters out of preference, 'cause a newly conjured world should have newly conjured people). Is it weird that in my dreams, they always look like real people I know? (Though they certainly don't act like them... they always seem sort of clueless as to their location, and just kind of happy and nonsensical when i ask them anything) This sounds like an excellent dream sign. Reality check whenever you see someone you know acting strangely, or in a place they usually don't go to.

When I see my people I know in my dream they're so real I feel like a fool if I try to do/say anything out of the ordinary! They rarely talk though.. find a dream character to inspect and interrogate. See how closely they resemble their real life counterpart. Excellent idea, sounds like a plan.
