Well, I'm brand new here, and i've become very interested in lucid dreaming in a matter of an hour. I've always been pretty good at remembering the previous night's dreams, and i had one last night. i remember being very, VERY slightly aware that it was a dream, and i was wondering what the next step would be. ive read up extensively on the subject, and i have an 'A' written on my palm to refer to through out the days to come. i also have a dream journal next to my bed ready to go. what other measures can i take? anywho, im off to bed now, so with me luck! while im laying there, i will tell myself things like, "i will wake up after my dream" and the like. any help is welcome! |

What you are doing now sounds like a great start. You have all the basic things to start lucid dreaming. I would suggest performing Reality checks often in real life and questioning your surroundings when something out of the ordinary happens. Hopefully these will transfer obver to your dream, and you will begin lucidity! Like eternalstar said, visit the tutorials to check out some techniques, and visit the acronym list so you will know what things mean when we abreviate them. Such as DILD, WILD, RC, LD, etc. |

When you say "i have an 'A' written on my palm to refer to through out the days to come" do you mean that you have an A written on your palm so you can remember to do reality checks? Because using a reminder to do reality checks isn't always the best plan. The reason is: In real life you have your reminder on your hand, but in dreams it probly won't be there, so you'll be frustrated when you never have a LD and you practice extensively with your reminder. You see what I mean? It's probly a better idea to try and remember to question reality without a reminder. Just try to always keep it in the back of your brain, so when you do a reality check in a dream it is a random thing, not something you did because you were reminded about it. I hope this helps. |

Lucid Dreams: 22 (many more recently, I've stopped counting) (DILD: 20 --- DEILD: 2)
This is a fact: Anything and everything that is unrelated to elephants is irrelephant.
Ya, that could be very well try. But what would make you remember that you had a reminder on your hand in real life? There wouldn't be anything to make you think about having an 'A' on your hand. If you do random reality checks, it will come up randomly in your dreams. Thats how I do it but I'm sure there are some people who can get the reminder thing to work, I personally don't think it's a very good plan. |
