I have been trying to have a lucid dream for about 4 nights now all with similar results. I have read up on a lot of techniques and thought the WILD technique was best. I have gotten too excited to actually fall asleep and wake up 5-7 hours later, so I try to do the WILD technique right as I am going to sleep for the first time of the night. I lay down in a very comfortable and relaxed position for about 30-45 minutes and then I can feel sleep paralysis start to happen. My body becomes numb and feels "heavy". Also, there is a low buzzing noise i continue to hear. Then I start to get a fast pulse rate and my eyes start to move very quickly like I am in REM sleep. I also become very hot and feel the need to remove my sheets to cool off. Each night it has become hotter and my pulse increases. It becomes so intense i force my self to open my eyes and the entire WILD is ruined. Is the eye movement, increased pulse rate, and heat normal? and should I force myself to fall asleep for 5-7 hours then try to WILD into a lucid dream? Lastly, am I doing anything wrong?
