      Help?

So I can remember my dreams quite vividly, but they aren't lucid.
But when I'm in the dream, I completely forget to do RC's or even realize that I'm dreaming. But when I wake up I remember the whole thing perfectly and just think to myself, "UGHH What if I had only done an RC, or tried to remember that I need to realize that I'm dreaming."
Of course none of these thoughts enter my brain when I'm in the dream.

So, I guess what I'm asking is, do you guys have any tips to focusing in a dream and trying to actually enter lucidity?

This is perfectly normal. When you sleep, the logic centers in your brain crap out, too. By doing daily RC's and getting into a steady habit, you're basically hoping to kick-start the logic centers a bit, and from that, wake up more of the brain and become fully lucid. Keep practicing, try to RC at least 10 times a day, and DON'T LOSE MOTIVATION!!

I do RCs a lot and I have the question in mind and take the meaning to another level...... how long do I have to keep RCing for it to kick in and see some reactionZ?

It usually takes a month or two for most people...you can add a mantra to the mix right before bed to try and hasten the process, too.

I am slowly dying from excitement... and that's what preventing me from having LD's too.... can I just go to sleep normally? I usually move about and would eventually fall asleep, going to bed and doing a MILD on a WILD mode and staying still always fails.... do I have to keep chanting mantra though?
A recommendation for mantra build? So since I just started yesterday, that means I don't have to try to sleep in class and actually do something productive or go crazy and want to go to sleep even though it's not near 10 or 11 pm yet, and miss out on all my hobbies...... I haven't touched my tablet in a meaningful way today.... since I'm just hyped about this.

The excitement will die down after a bit...this is normal. When falling asleep, you can try to induce sleep paralysis on purpose to get to sleep faster. If you're just going to bed for the first time of the night, you're unlikely to get any dreams, but it can certainly help you to fall asleep. As for mantras, they're more of self-affirmations. It is suggested that you keep doing them even as you fall asleep, but if you can't manage it, don't worry about it. Even the mere act of chanting them through the day can improve your odds of becoming lucid. Don't try too hard, as this can actually hinder your chances of having a lucid dream. Just have patience, and good things WILL come in time.

How can I induce SP? When just going to bed I thought it's different from waking up from sleep.... then you'd be really sleepy or something and doing some technique will go like a breeze. So I think that SP should be easy before/during REM and hard when just going to bed... so how does that work exactly?

Will " When I dream, I'll realize and become lucid" work? if the makeup fails, the word hold a lot of meaning to boost..... okay I just need to believe it works.... well I do now, but approval anyways. I know these things are self-affirmations, but I still would like some opinion anyway hehe.

Basically, just hold as still as you can manage. If you have severe pain, stop...but the vast majority of people don't feel pain. It WILL feel quite strange the first few times...the legs usually go numb first for me, and it was...interesting the first few times, to say the least.

WBTB methods will definitely increase your odds of attaining lucidity. DEILD is one of the easier ones, MILD is the easiest, and WILD is the hardest. I like the MILD method, but I don't have the time to WBTB, so I'm not much of an expert in this department.

Basically the framework of having LC is just MILD for me.... WILD is optional though Id rather avoid it for now. WBTB is time consuming indeed

The only hard part for Me with wild even though I havent actually tried it in its designated time span......, what i did was just lay down back against floor head against pillow hand on the ground palm face down, i am getting over the saliva issue.... and i know itll swallow automatically as long as i dont think about it or it wont but itll still be fine. but as I lay still there with no saliva to distract me... what must I do exactly and for how long must I endure it? I know this is what WILD people usually do... but doing it is actually to go into SP SP requires you to wait and your body will eventually go to sleep...... but u will be conscious.... okay so maybe when you said it helps for me to go faster.... the framework is different all i have to do is stay still for a while and go to sleep.... without the adverse hallucination that comes with WILD.... but still what do I do while I wait? actually, no what do I do while i try to sleep with SP?

Um...wow...not entirely sure what to do with that post, but I'll give it a shot.

When I suggested inducing SP, it is valuable for WILD's, but in my experience, may also help you get to sleep faster if you're having trouble falling asleep quickly. Reverse-blinking is another method that can help you fall asleep more quickly. I would suggest holding off on the WILD and WBTB methods, especially if you're having trouble working them into your schedule. To occupy yourself during a WILD attempt, some people focus on an anchor to reality...an uncomfortable sensation, counting, breathing, etc. If you're just waiting to get to sleep, you may wish to try self-affirmations and ultimately end up letting your mind wander as you get closer to sleep. Inducing SP outside a WILD attempt is perfectly fine, and can be great practice for falling asleep consciously and inducing SP quickly, as well as falling asleep quickly. Hey, it couldn't hurt.

Thanks, that helped. So do I have to stay still while trying to SP? stay still count my breathe or something and how long does it usually take for it to go into effect and I go to sleep, I'll also try the chanting, but same thing htere, how long exactly?

And sorry if my posts are out-of-this-world, I'll work on it.

And what is this reverse-blinking? Oh just to be sure, if I try SP without WILD, or during the time period, nothing will happen and it will only help me go to sleep right?

And I'll just ignore the mantra thing.... I have this notion in my head doubting if my mantra will work based on things I've read..... but it'll work as long as I believe... and it'll come eventually.. and thanks for the replies, uberly appreciate it.

Yeah, stay as still as possible (within reason). If you have an itch, go ahead and scratch it if you must...make yourself comfortable, then stay still. It took me about thirty minutes the first time to get to SP. If you stay with it, you can get some pretty cool hallucinations, even if you aren't going for an official WILD attempt.

Thank you. As a grammar nazi, I do appreciate it.

Reverse blinking is keeping your eyes shut for a count of five or so, then opening them and focusing very quickly on an object, and shutting them again. Blinking in reverse. It's supposed to be very tiring.

As mentioned above, even when going into SP right before bed, you can experience hallucinations, which can be a lot of fun.

Mantras are fantastic. Autosuggestion and affirmation are two very powerful tools. Believing that they will help is helpful, but not entirely necessary. For sure, you're likely to see some reduced results, but they should still work on some level.

Haha, the term grammar-nazi is kind of funny. I'll stay away from the blinking... and SP should work now... thanks I quite get it all now. I'll try it today... if it fails I'll fall asleep sooner or later and if i didnt get lucid I'd still get something for my journal...

But I'll tell you last night's dream for the hack of it.....
Well the first thing I remember is some action going on.... and then I saw this character from bleach in high-def.... I don't know if it was Yuruiichi or Soifon....... and then I saw Ichigo..... and he was in full hollow form.... okay it was somewhat deformed.... ( Why didn't I notice that?) And he supposed was fighting mechs with energy wings in a middle-east ish setting..... that looked a lot like the scene from gundam 00.... and when I wake up I forgot this, but when I was on rotue to school I remembered,

You are having just about the same problem that I am having. One thing that I learned that helps greatly is really getting into your reality checks during the day. Don't only ask yourself if you are dreaming but actually pay attentiont to what is going on. Look around and understand everything. Pay very close attention and most important do this many times a day. You won't get instant results but eventually your subconcious will start doing reality checks in your dream and you'll feel that spark of "I'm in a dream" feeling. Good luck.

Thanks for this, I RC very frequently... but being aware will help big time.
      haha on my school comptuer.
will be back home in 2 hours... But this time I'm not napping just hoping for LD's in dream and doing RC and mantra+ to prepare for MILd at night.

Heheh, I post from my organic chemistry class. I was forced into it...it's a cake walk of a class. So, I just quietly type in the back of the room while the teacher natters on. Good times.
