Perhaps you got excited and lost lucidity. The brain, for some reason, doesn't like it when you get lucid, and often creates distractions to... well, distract you. With practice, you get better. |

This is a dream i had the other night |

That happens a lot the first time. People usually get excited and the excitement itself wakes them up. It didn't sound much like that was the case for you though. Maybe you're just not used to having your mind "wake up" in a dream without actually waking up. Congrats on questioning reality in a dream, that's the first step! Also, welcome! |

Quick question, I just thought of this; is it possible to condition yourself while awake to accept lucidity right away, or somehow get used to it beforehand, like imagining you are in a lucid dream? |
|
Well, you'd be lucid right away if you did a WILD, that way you go straight from the waking state to dreaming without any lapse in consciousness. I suppose you could "condition" yourself while awake by always being really aware. Reality checks are a part of this. Just always be on the lookout for things that could indicate a dream. |
