Is a lucid moment in your dream after 2 weeks good progress?

Well, this happened a long time ago ( about a year I think ) and i had been doing this stuff for 2 weeks ( reality checks, writing down what I remember from dreams... MY PARENTS FOUND IT you know, the whole shebang ) and I had a lucid moment inside a dream where I just randomly somewhat realized I was dreaming, it was all dark and cloudy where I was and the clouds were brown and black like it was really polluted and the ground was barren and then I started thinking about people and started falling up into the sky at high speed, then the lucid moment ended... ( yes I remember that off the top of my head from a year ago. ) is that good progress for me??

My mom read my DJ once. It was the most embarassing thing I've ever had happen to me. xD

Anyways. Considering it can take months for some people, I'd say you're doing great. Although it does differ from person to person. For instance, it took me a few months to WILD but some people can do it on their first night after learning about it.

Work on your awareness, more than just doing routine reality checks. Trust me, it's the awareness and the constant 'hmm, I could be dreaming RIGHT NOW' that creates lucidity. Reality checks are just for making sure you're dreaming.

      Congrads on the lucidity =D

We all live in a kind of continuous dream. When we wake, it is because something,
some event, some pinprick even, disturbs the edges of what we have taken as reality.

TY : P I really want to try to get a full-blown lucid dream one of these days... all of my dreams seem to look JUST LIKE real life, and most of the situations I get myself into are mundane... how do I realize I'm dreaming in mundane situations?

Make a habit of asking your self wether your dreaming while your awake. Don't just say the words, realy look around and try to tell if this might be a dream. I used to have signs all over my house, in my car in my pockets during the early days. If you do this long enough while awake you will start asking the same thing while you are dreaming.

I had my first (very brief) lucid experience after two weeks, so I'd say you were making good progress.

Welcome. I can assure you, though, that no matter how real your dream looks, something has gotta be out of place. Do you usually put your alarm clock next to your bed, but then find there's another one, right on your dresser? These small hints can prove potent when trying to become lucid. Try to push your finger through your palm. Or, count your fingers (but watch out - from my experience, my hands always have six fingers, which doesn't look too out of the ordinary; I often have to count twice to make sure I'm not miscounting).

Everyone is different, so don't worry too much about comparing yourself to others. I say, any lucidity at all is a huge blessing. How have your dreams improved, other than the lucidity? Are they more vivid and rewarding since you started?

Nothing has really changed, they all seem really vivid for the most part, never really blurry, maybe a little blur here and there, but for the most part it looks like how I see things IRL, but like high definition with all of it's vibrant colors, but they are usually high quality, lucidity or not, even though i'm not focused IRL for the most part... last night I had a lucid moment and I think I ended up closing and then opening my eyes to prevent a nightmare and lost lucidity....

I've had people I know IRL read my DJ. Can be a little awkward sometimes, although this is the internet and everything we do online can easily be exposed.
I hope my parents don't read my vampire dream. My friends probably already think I am a disturbed person.

Anyway a lucid moment after 2 weeks is good progress for a beginner. Keep at it!
