This is a very common way of transporting yourself to different settings, however its harder than its sounds. Walking through a door into a new world only worked once for me. On most occasions, the door will lead to blackness or won't open.
Object creation is far easier. Always spawn or expect an object to be in a place that you can't see. Like in a cupboard, around a corner, or behind your back. Some get DCs to give them items.

This is basically what I like to refer to as "shifting the responsibility from the dreamer to the dream". Rather than depend on your powers and control, you let the dream, its world, and its characters do things for you.

I think that that thing about "you will not control your dream very well if you are beginner" is a myth.
every people is different, so some will have less difficulty at controlling the dream.
it always work as expectation. If you really think you are going to control the dream easily(but you must be convinced) then you are going to do it without problems, what thing doesn't let you doing it the first time you become lucid?
      nothing.
go ahead and control as much as you want.

I disagree. Its unlikely someone new to lucid dreaming will have perfect control first time around. Same way someone who is knew to playing the piano is probably not going to be able to play Mozart flawlessly on their first day.

I'm a bit surprised that the door technique doesn't work for you, Loaf! It's always worked for me. Maybe it's because we're different people.
We all live in a kind of continuous dream. When we wake, it is because something,
some event, some pinprick even, disturbs the edges of what we have taken as reality.

I have serious issues teleporting to different places. Portals don't work, mirrors don't work, doors don't work. I have to manually get there. Or I have to close my eyes and use every ounce of thought power.

      Ooh, that really stinks. x_x'
I can't seem to travel through mirrors anymore, either. All I use are doors.

I really don't mind if I can't comepletely control my dream the first time. On of the things that I want to do is to just follow the dream as it is once I become lucid, and maybe use these to do small things. But I'll know nothing until I have one, so I'll wait and see what comes of it. Thanks for the advice, I do hope it works.
