New guy here, got some ?s

      Hello everybody

I have been lurking here for the past few days and decided to join. Hence my username, I love the movie The Matrix. I want sooo bad to be able to fly and be free of control like Neo. That is why I am interested in LDing. I have been keeping a dream journal for about a month now. I've gotten a lot more serious about it in the past few weeks, doing lots of RCs and looking for dreamsigns. I am finishing up high school right now and don't have many things to worry about so I can really commit to learning to LD. I have three questions for you guys:

First question is about the vividness of dreams. I seem to have really abstract or odd dreams that seem short. I've never had one that was amazingly realistic. So eventually when I become lucid one night, will the dream light up like a christmas tree and come alive? I am really curious as to what it will be like.

Second question is: is MILD the way to go for beginners? I am trying to improve my dream recall right now, but I am really curious to try other methods like WILD. I heard that SP can be strange but I feel up to the challenge.

Third: Also last night I didn't become lucid but I saw someone sitting in a tree (?) and thought "they are going to fall", and right then they did! So I guess that means I am on the right track?

      Thanks for your time guys

Welcome to DV! And to your questions.

1: It changes for everyone, for some, they get so excited that they wake themselves up, so yeah, remember to stabilize after becoming lucid to ensure more vividness/clairity for the dream.

2: Well, many would say that DILD is "easier" than WILD, however it varies too, if you already get natural SP, WILD should be easier for you.

3: Well, with lucidity control often comes as an extra, but control can come without lucidity, though if you rarely take control of your dreams while non-lucid, it might be a signal.

      Awsome, thanks.

About the second question, how can I know if I get natural SP?

Well, if you don't remember waking up in the middle of the night often and finding your body paralyzed, means you don't have it. Otherwise, you could try to WILD for 2 weeks and see how it goes.
