      newbie here

      hey ive been reading alot on the site and i wanted to sign up and ask a question.

      for the past few weeks ive been recalling my dreams about 1 or 2 dreams a night with maybe having 1 lucid dream that seemed to last about 10 seconds, but i dont wake myself up in the middle of the night, i just remember my dreams when i wake up in the morning.

      my question is this, do i have to keep waking myself up after every dream in the middle of the night after every dream? if this is the case, i find that this will disrupt my sleep too much and that i would be too tired to write down dreams anyway? What does it actually achieve when u wake up after every dream and write it down?

      another thing that might seem strange, i have about 20 different dreams written down now and theres almost nothing that seems out of the ordinary so its difficult to find dream signs.

      i would appreciate any help, thanks

      Hey Jimbo, welcome.

      It probably is better if you write down your dreams immediately upon waking up in the middle of the night. The benefit is that the dream should still be quite clear in your mind and will most likely fade as the night continues. That being said, you don't have to. Like you, I just write down my dreams when I wake up in the morning, and this suits me fine. My recall is generally pretty good.

      I was also similar to you starting out in that my dreams didn't seem out of the ordinary. If you keep at it I'm sure you'll soon get some unusual dreams that contain interesting dreamsigns. Your dreamsigns might also simply be the ordinary things you currently are dreaming about. My advice is just to keep on recording and see what happens.

      Hope that helped, enjoy it here

      Hey, man welcome. i agree with Sol on the dream recall. do what works best for you. i find it impossible to wake up in the middle of the night, right after a dream. i can usually recall 2 or three dreams when i wake up in the morning, with my record being 7 after really working on recall.

      as to the dream signs, i am like you as well, nothing really sticks out in about 95% of my dreams, but as sol said, just stick with it, and once you have more dreams, you'll notice more things that stick out, simple as that. Or maybe finding dreamsigns wont be the method that works out best for you. as you will see in the tutorial section, there are many, many different was to LD that dont involve dreamsigns. Good luck with your LDing!

      With closing eyes and resting head; I know that sleep is coming soon.

      Upon my pillow, safe in bed,
      A thousand pictures fill my head,

      I cannot sleep , my mids aflight;
      and yet my limbs seems made of lead.

      I agree with the two previous posts above me, but wanted to say...
