OMG first lucid after only 3 days!!!!!

Hello DV community! Just had my first lucid dream last night, and thought I would share it with you guys -Starts out around 5:30 AM this morning, I wake up to use the bathroom, do that and go get a drink of water. -Try to go back to sleep around 5:38 AM or something around that(sorry about the super details like time ect. im just really excited!) so I cant go back to sleep after like 35-40 minutes of laying there. So I say ok w/e ill just get up for the day. I get on the computer and just surf you-tube and stuff for a little before I get ready for the day. After being on the computer for a little while, I start to get really sleepy. -Go back to sleep around 6:30 AM...this is where it all begins! -I'm playing Xboxlive with one of my buds from real life named john. My dog cooper is asleep on my couch across the room. I look back it him a few seconds later and there is two of him, and there fighting each other! I tell john "dude Cooper is like fighting his self", I go to break it up and one of the cooper's attacks me, the other one is just sitting there passively which his how cooper normally is, so I tell myself that he must be the "real" cooper, after being attacked for a second, the "impostor" cooper runs out of my room, I go to chase him into the living room, only to see that he is with my step dad Michael on the couch just chilling lol. Im like...oookkkk what ever. I walk into the kitchen to see my sheep dog at the side door, AND under the table, yep that's right, theres two of him to. I look away and look back, still two sheep dogs. Nothing else in my dream was double except for my dog's. I walk back into the living room to see my mom and Michael with cooper on the couch. I ask them what the heck is going on, but they ignore me. Ok now this is what ive been confused on for a while about LD, I never understood how to tell yourself to do a RC in a dream, it just sorta happened. I pinch myself to see if I could feel it, nope no pain at all. HOLY CRAP my mind became awake, I WAS THERE, I can not describe how real it was once I was conscious during this. I told myself, ok remain calm, I am lucid dreaming, remain calm dont get to excited . I started to have trouble walking for about 10 seconds, felt like a was a new born learning to walk again, but that didnt last long. I walk out the front door, to find what I normally would, but everything looked sort of "glowy" I was amazed at how real it was, I thought, oh wait im lucid I WANT to fly, I started to fly over my house but I felt very unstable while doing so, so I told myself that I would practice flying in later dreams, because we do literally have the rest of our life to dream. I land and walk around to the back yard, hearing my sister and her friend Elise laughing and riding bikes(I know, super WTF, eh? lol) but now it was dark outside, I saw them get off there bikes and go inside, that's when that dream ended. Now what I need to ask all of you is this, was I really lucid or did i just think in my dream that i was lucid? And also, it seemed as if the dream kept on going even though I was lucid, is that normal? But I WAS FULLY AWARE I WAS DREAMING.

Haha. Congratulations, dude. And welcome to Dream Views. To answer your question: Yes. That was your first lucid dream. And a pretty good one, if you ask me. I love how trippy the part with the dogs was. Lol. The best advice I could give you now, would be to start a Dream Journal, if you don't already have one. You're going to want to keep track of all your adventures, from here on out. Here's to many more, in the future!

Congrats, I had mine my first attempt. Exciting isn't it? You were lucid dream, use just probably lost some lucidity later on in the dream. It happens to everyone. Read some stabilization techniques in tutorials

Ive only had short ones since I joined a few days ago Yeah, my lucidity only lasted about 2 minutes if even, but hey now I KNOW I can do it, it's kinda like a motivator ^.^

Ahhh sounds just like my first lucid dream. Blew my little mind. It's so weird actually moving on purpose for the first time! lol I had trouble walking when I rushed from sleep paralysis while attempting WILD. Usually I did it from panic when I was younger and didnt know what was going on. >.<
