New here and have so many questions about my lucid dreaming.....

First of all im new here so HELLO ALL! Ok now that thats out of the way lol i am a 22 y/o male and coming to the forums because i have been dreaming extremely lucidly for about 4-5 years with my dreams ALWAYS being lucid but the intensity fluxuating. But my dreams are so real it's insane and its starting to scare me because they are so real. I know it's just a dream and i cannot get hurt but this is seriously way to real. I can fully walk, talk, listen, jump and even fly (sometimes ) and i wake up thinking events in my dreams have happened in real life and i ask everyone i know all the time if they dream like i do and everyone looks at me like i'm nuts. Basically i just want to know if i should worry about this because sometimes i really enjoy these dreams its amazing what can be seen in dreams but sometimes it's scary as hell but rarely do i have nightmares its just scary because it's so real. So if anyone has any input for me i would really appreciate it.

      Also my background:
      Depression -currently no meds
Anxiety - 1mg Xanax when needed
      Insomniac

      Hey, welcome to the forum!

There is nothing to worry about. Dreams are a wonderful thing and even moreso if you are lucid. It sounds to me like you have a gift if you can become lucid so often. You should embrace it, many people struggle to have even one lucid dream. You are lucky.

Well then that makes me happy. Seeing how i look forward to going to sleep lol. I love going into my dreams the stuff i see is just crazy they even blow every movie i have seen out of the water. Here let me give an example of one i had a couple days ago. This took place i guess in what i imagine the future to be and so humanity is dieing to an unknown threat and so i volunteered to help fight this threat right but what was so cool is i vividly remember standing in a field with a bunch of other people and spaceships where picking us all up it was so vivid i could hear the rumble from the engines and could feel the wind hitting me as the spaceship came down.

So thats a taste of one of my dreams. I just have some really crazy dreams .

Well like he said it seems you have a gift. Pretty cool. But what I ask is even though lucid dreams usualy last at max 1 hour I've heard of people feeling like the dream lasted somewhere along 3 or more hours. Like it is possible for the time in dreams to be different than in real life? Is this true? Have you ever had a lucid dream that seemingly lasted hours?

YES! When i dream time is infinite. When i'm dreaming there is no time i end the dream when i wish or i can do what i call "jumping" into a completely different dream and i know when we all dream we go through multiple dreams but i can jump between them. I have yet to meet anybody who dreams the way i do. I might actually start writing my dreams down. A lot of friends and family think i should become a movie writer....maybe i just might . Feel free to ask any questions about my dreams i have no problem sharing with you all.

      Hey, welcome to the forum!

Do you keep a dream journal? How is your dream control? Do you have goals for your lucid dreaming?

Welcome to the forum. Actually I haven't been on here for very long. Anyways....Wow! :O You are so lucky! I sometimes can't even remember my dreams, and I don't lucid dreams very often. Lately I haven't been able to remember my dreams. :/ It's so cool that you get to have your own world in your dreams.

Soooo... have you always had extremely good dream recall and many very vivid and lucid dreams, or have you gotten better as you got older? I was wondering if you got better over the years because I'm about 6 years younger than you are, so I was wondering if perhaps I could become as good as you are at dreaming once I reach your age. I've been interested in dreams for a long time, but only started researching them recently.

My dreams are quite repetitive. I go to many of the same places, and I think some of my dreams even repeat. Since the same types of things happen in my dreams I sometimes become semi-lucid, or even fully lucid. In one of my dreams I was going to go into a building but then I remembered what happened to me last time I went in there. The last time I had gone into the building I think my sisters were killed, so I went somewhere else instead. My dreams are also very unrealistic and many crazy things happen. In some of my dreams I have what I think could be called false memories, or I just happen to know some fact about a person or place. One example of this is a dream I had where I had a brother. In reality I don't have a brother, so later in the dream I realized this and ended up telling them that I wasn't really his sister. Another example is a dream where I was at my "school" and I couldn't seem to find any of my classes, but then I realized that the reason I couldn't find any of my classes was because the building looked nothing like my real school, so I ran out of the school doors and flew away. :3

Well... sorry rambled about my dreaming so much. o.o I just love talking about dreams. :3

First off unfortunately i do not keep a journal even though i have been told many times that i should. So starting tonight i will.

Now to Kaira and yes i do believe it has gotten better as i have gotten older but i have always been able to remember most of my dreams. I also have very crazy unrealistic dreams too and they scare me but in a way they are amazing. Keep in mind i have always been an insomniac and when i was younger i started taking melatonin which is an over the counter natural sleep aid. Melatonin will make you have very lucid dreams but i stopped taking it to see if it was just the medicine doing it and its not for some reason i dream incredibly lucid every single night and for a while it scared me and still kind of does because they are so real. But now i have learned how to control myself inside of my dreams its kind of like Astral Projection and it is simply amazing sometimes. The things i see and hear would blow peoples minds but i know its just my imagination. So to answer your question yes i do believe you can dream like me. It's kind of hard to explain but its like when i go to sleep im in a complete relaxed state of mind because i look forward to my dreams and when i'm in my dreams i just start thinking really hard and (boom) im in my dream as myself controlling myself doing what i want as i please. Now sometimes this doesn't always happen but the majority of the time it does. It took me a while to be able to control myself in my dreams and i'll never forget the dream that started it all . Just try being excited about going to sleep and if a bad dream occurs in your dream close your eyes and the bad dream will go away. I know that sounds odd but it always works for me.

Well I'm glad that time in dreams can be longer than how long you actually dream. Because I have had normal dreams when I was younger that seemingly lasted days. Mostly nightmares. All my life I have had nightmares but then I started enjoying nightmares. They were exciting and I love scary movies. Eventually in my dreams I started recognizing that it was a dream but doing nothing about it because I didnt know what to do. I searched up on the subject and found whole communities of people controlling their dreams. And a movie huh? O always that a movie based on lucid reaming could be good. My lucid world. That should be the title.

If you start to have a nightmare try as hard as you can (its hard i know) but close your eyes in your dream and you will either wake up or as i call it "jump" into another dream. Just be excited when you go to sleep, don't think about what you want to dream about just be excited to enter a whole different reality and enjoy it ! Because even nightmares can turn intro a really cool dream.

Oooh! Well I'm hoping to become better at dreaming too. ^_^ My dreams usually aren't that vivid, but when I become lucid they become much more vivid. I remember that in one of my dreamsI became lucid briefly. I was amazed by the vividness of the dream. Usually my senses are quite dulled in my dreams but at that moment everything felt so real. I looked at my hands and felt the the ground beneath my feet and it just felt so real. After looking at my hands I jumped off the ground and flew above the ground a few feet then came down again, but after this my dream changed and I lost a lot of the vividness and my lucidity.

Over the years I have gained more control in my dreams. I fly a lot in my dreams and I have controlled fire before, walked on water, created a small pond with living plants and animals in it, made objects appear, morphed into different creatures and teleported. As for bad dreams, I pretty much don't worry about them at all. Actually, I kind of like battling monsters. I once had a dream where I was on a cliff that had demigods and cupids (btw this is near the end of the dream).

Below the cliff there was an ocean and some commotion could be heard. The demigods told me that there was a monster attacking ships below the cliff. I decided that I would save the people from the ships and announced it to the demigods. After I told them that I was going I jumped off the cliff. While falling down towards the ocean I didn't see or hear anything, and I started to wonder if there was really anything there, but then I hit the water. Under the water was a giant sea monster. The sea monster looked like an octopus but with a shriveled human head. When I saw the monster at first I was terrified and started to swim away, but because I was scared I became more weak, and then I remembered why I dove down in the first place, to help people! Instead of continuing to swim away I turned around and faced the creature. I was no longer afraid of it and I started to feel more powerful and I started to grow. The monster then swam up to me and turned upside down and tried to grab me with its tentacles and shove me in its mouth, but I just swatted the tentacles away. I then tried to think of how to defeat the monster. I decided that I would use fire, since it was the offensive power that I was most experienced with. First, I tried to attack the monster with normal fire and I shot a ball of it into the monster's mouth(the octopus one, not the human one), but it didn't work well and I thought it was because I was underwater, so instead I tried blue fire. The blue fire I used was supposed to be cold like ice, but I don't like to use cold elements that much so I tried to think of something else. I then remembered greek fire, or green fire(I'm not sure what the name is), which is a green fire that can burn even under water, so then I shot green fire down the octopus monster's throat and killed it. The monster then sunk to the bottom of the ocean and I swam back to the surface.

Heh... Sorry, I just can't help myself. I should probably post the whole dream in my dream journal on the site(which I haven't started yet). Could you maybe write down some of your dreams? I really want to hear about them!

So i was dreaming pretty heavy last night. I had a couple of things happen that don't usually happen. Now i started off having a bad dream about me and a group of people going into like a haunted building but for some reason there were zombie like type of things in this building that just kept getting bigger and bigger and we couldn't get out luckily i was able to end that dream. Then i probably went through about five or six odd crazy dreams you know like where everything is completely warped (these dreams i keep to myself sorry). After a while i went into an extremely vivid dream that was really odd but i'm going to piece it together (sorry if it doesn't make sense lol). So i awake in a house that i've never seen before and im staying with some older people who again i have never seen before and what was so weird about this is i was in this dream for a long time...day and night were passing and i was hunting with the men of the family and after a while back in the house the thing i remember most was this little boy who was the son of the family he probably was about 4 y/o blonde hair and blue eyes and he wore glasses (looked a lot like the Jerry Maguire boy lol) he also wasn't pleased with me staying at the house and i still don't know why but he was making me laugh really hard. So after about 3 days literally i was able to get out of the dream finally and i was so excited and here is where it gets weird i woke up thinking i was really awake but i was still in my dream i then went into my computer room got on my computer and was able to access my previous dreams!!!! It was like they saved in my brain lol like a hard drive so i clicked on the very first dream i had which was the bad one and immediately went back to were i left off! Being scared and running but what was weird was i was like in a first person view watching myself while also controlling myself in this dream and i was able to delete the dream from my super dreaming computer lol. I then proceeded to go back to the good dreams that i was having but i was never able to get back to the one with the little boy and the family......weird huh.

I just woke up and wanted to get this out ASAP i know its a bunch of rambling but i thought it was pretty cool.

There is also something else i wanted to share that i forgot to mention. I enter REM sleep every single time i go to sleep even if it's for 10 minutes and i can completely remember these lucid vivid dreams does this happen to anyone else? I can lay down for a nap enter an amazing dream and wake up with my mind blown...
