      Small success

I just want to report a small success that I had this morning.

I set my alarm at 4am and stayed up for half an hour so I could attempt to WILD for the first time. When I went back to bed, I found myself getting into sleep paralysis, however I kept coming out of it. After about 40 minutes I gave up, turned over and went to sleep.

I found myself in a dream where I was fighting someone, and I was holding their head by my chair in my bedroom and was about to knee them in the face, but for some reason I thought, "Hold on, I can do this for real!" and immediately went lucid.

As this happened, I felt the dream just moving away from me, which in itself was a huge rush, and for some reason instead of rubbing my hands together or spinning, I got mixed up and shouted "Clarity!" like a fool, but nothing happened. The next thing I could think of was to fly (again, like a fool) and I shot up into the air, but as I reached my bedroom ceiling I awoke.

I think I should have done a reality check then, because when I awoke for the day this morning, I realise that this may have been a FA but I didn't check. Either way, I am very pleased that I got over that first hurdle and experienced some form of lucidity

Very nice! That is good progress.
The clarity thing is annoying though. Guess you learned your lesson.

Yeah Last night was actually the first time I tried WBTB though, I was being a noob before and trying it before I actually went to sleep at all, which wasn't working too well even though I got to SP a couple of times.

I feel really good now though, and I know that I'll have a proper one within the coming weeks

Even sooner I'd expect, possibly tonight! Don't doubt yourself.
I tried to WILD before going to sleep... got SP as well, and that was it.

I was actually thinking tonight but didn't want to sound too cocky
But now I know what I have done wrong, I know what I need to do right. And this has encouraged me so much because this kind of lucid is usually people's first step to the great ones (from what I read on here anyway )

Keep up the momentum, and try again tonight. Don't worry if your first few lucid dreams are short. They will get longer with practice, as you become more used to the feeling.
