      Dreams in the Morning

Is it strange that i only remember dreams late in the morning. i wake up middle of the night around 4 or 5 but never remember any dreams from then.

then i wake up around 8 and fall back asleep for 30 min and wake up. i repeat this a couple times and those are the only dreams i ever remember. is it weird to never have longer dreams or remember dreams earlier in the night?

I don't think so! I don't often, RARELY, wake up THAT early in the morning. But I do do that "wakin up and fallin back to sleep" thing all of the time! It's nice to be able to do this. It DOES lead to lucids, once you start getting some.
If you see a strange typo in my post, blame my iPad for that.

Not strange. It's common to remember dreams more often in the morning since the REM cycle is longer then instead of earlier in the night.

      Check this chart out:

Not only does the REM period increase but delta sleep (stage four and three) all but vanish by morning time. A lot of techniques will try to monopolize on the earlier REM periods (specifically hour six and onward though a few try earlier) by training oneself to detect the end of REM and fully get up to record the dream. This works because we naturally wake after every REM, yet simply fall back to sleep immediately and forget everything. With practice and decent dream recall you can start chaining three or more dreams per night.
