Thread: Power Balance

To be fair I watched the YouTube video, and what was presented was words such as "Love" and "Thank You" intercut with pictures of crystaline structures.

I am reminded of that video where the woman was going on about the pollution in her ground water because the water spraying from her hose caused a rainbow.

Science has advanced to the point that we shouldn't be blaming Zeus for lightning strikes anymore, but there's a core demographic out there that are so desperate for there to be some magic left in the word that they will gobble up anything put in front of them with a colorful wrapper.

Replacing the word "magic" with "vibrations" "frequencies" or "energy" does not make an idea scientificly sound. What EXACTLY are these crystals vibrating with? Electricity? Radiation? Elctrommagnetic waves? Of course it's none of the above, because if it was science could prove that the proposed events are not happening.

These power bracelets are just as silly as thinking you had good luck because you didn't walk under that ladder, or you didn't cross paths with that black cat. I get it with teenagers, but as adults we have to be more discerning than that, especially if we plan on raising children. You need to say no to the African princess you sent you an email that they need $10,000, and turn away from they guy who says a thin strip of copper on your wrist is going to cure all your ills.

Bob: Prove they're not there? Prove that the things that can't be detected in any way are not there? How do you prove that something does not exist?

Alex: Exactly! So I win! The Gormak Gnomes are real!

Bob: Wait- how about this energy that they're sending you to bring you luck? What kind of energy is it?

Alex: Magical energy.

Bob: So...that can't be detected either?

Alex: Nope! Once again I win- the Gormak Gnomes are real because you can't prove they don't exist.

Don't hold unsupported beliefs as truth, which is what all your skeptic stuff the king is posting sounds like. Its like they can't prove it so they just say no its fake.

The burden of proof is on the believer. If logic says something isn't likely, then you have to prove me wrong with facts. None of what you said sounds supportable with facts of any type.

Here's where your video posted is irrelevant: it simply shows a slide off screen and a picture of "water." There are way too many assumptions there to assume this is true. The video I posted showed from start to stop how the Power Balance people perform their con. They also teach the user how to repeat these results (and I did tonight with ease on a friend). With that video though, I'd almost be willing to pretend it is truthful just because it's promoting good relationships, so that's all good.

Well this is really complicated and hard to explain but I will try. By the way I am a total freakin hippocrit because I'm about to draw a conclusion.
All thought is energy at a higher vibration. That means that this energy (called qi by the chinese) is changing with our thoughts and emotions. Like when someone says they are giving off a good or bad vibe. Or when you walk in a room and someone is really sad and you can feel it. Now the energy radiating from crystals are not changing nearly as much as we are because it is solid. The energy is good also, that something to do with the crystaline structure that is the star of david. This crystaline structure is the fractal geometry of the universe. So the crystaline three dimensional star of david structure signifies balance. Chinese medicine is based around the energy that flows through your body. They say the root cause of dis-ease is a blockage/inbalance in energy flowing through your body. Acupuncture is ment to free blockages and it works! So I guess that the energy radiating from the crystals would effect your energy body/chakras in positive ways. Qigong is a practice that is incorparated into most martial arts in asia. The guiding principle of qi-gong qi follows the mind and the mind guides the qi. So what or who you are thinking about/focusing on your energy is going there. You ever get the feeling someone is watching you and then you turn around and there is?

I appreciate you going into more depth. I still don't agree with your assumptions about the world, but I've done a few too many negative posts today. Sometimes I swear DV forums can bring out the worst in ya.

Yeah- nothing about luck with the bands. I just use the Bob/Alex thing to reinforce what TheKing said. It's the same argument used in atheist vs theist debates; it is literally impossible to prove something does not exist, so it falls on the proponent of a thing's existence to supply proof. I learned that lesson a long time ago when my little brother told me that Elves do exist, but they're not around anymore and their bones decay faster than normal bones so there is no fossil record. He was doing it just to annoy me, but it was a great example of how it was literally impossible for me to prove that he was wrong.

Yes you are, that video doesn't offer an explanation for anything you just said. Please try and explain:

"All thought is energy at a higher vibration."

And:

"This crystaline structure is the fractal geometry of the universe."

I don't remember seeing that in any textbooks.

ok for the explanation of the fractal you might have to watch a few videos from this physicist named Nassim Haramein. It is very interesting though.

As for all thought is energy at a higher vibration I don't have anything to back that up except maybe the principles of qigong and maybe this video:YouTube - The Secret: 1st 20 minutes
Although I don't agree with everything in the secret.

A simple google search will tell you that Nassim Haramein isn't considered universally credible. In fact, his wiki page was deleted due to uncited information, his website is less than helpful. The Secret has been criticized for offering false hope, among many other false promises.

I'm posting this here to note my bias before viewing the videos. I'll post my thoughts after, but my own bias does exist.
