Joining a Foreign Army

Hi people i live In England and just found out there cutting the forces down by 17,000 which is alot of people and this is going to make me getting in the army alot slimmer

So i was just wondering is it possible to Join The Canadian or Austrailian forces?

with a Green card

I wish they just let allied people into other forces

Yeh I think tons of countries have foreign legions..Dont consider the Russian one..its all skanky Uzbeks and shiz (no offence to Uzbekistanis).
Better idea: Dont join the army

Sorry i dont mean the French Foreign legion i cant speak french and im not gonna get Brutalized lol thats not my kinda place haha

I mean like other countrys like Canada, USA and Austrailia. Im still gonna try my luck with the British army ofc

but im hoping its the job i want that isnt being cut but stil would be nice to serve with the canadians i like there gear

anyone no if it possible to join it?

I don't get that, can't you just tell them you want in? In Denmark you're basically happy to not get in, and if you actually want in, then it's no problem. I think Denmark is among some of the only western countries that are like that actually.

You would appear to be a good fit for the army. You can't spell for shite and have no idea about other countries. They'll take you in a heartbeat.

I'd just like to say that since there are so many people applying for the british army, they can afford to be picky. There are plenty of smart, determined people who apply for the army. And those who aren't so much like that, isn't it good that they're trying to do something with themselves and make their own money that sitting doing nothing and probably scrounging off benifits? A lot of people aren't like the stereotypes. Without your army, where do you think your country would be?

You could say "we'd be better without any at all" but the world doesn't run like that. If a country didn't have an army, they'd probably be fucked. Then again, that's just my opinion.

@Wrighty - If you're determined enough (like really), in good physical condition and your medical report is good, then you just need to work to be better than everyone else. Don't set yourself up for failure by thinking "oh well, I'll go to another country and join theirs instead."

Many countries offer to foreigners to join t here army . And they offer special kinds of tests to them . Better search official army websites to get a clear picture .

I suggest you check out the thread about stereotypes and see how many of them are actually true.

And think about it. How are wasters supposed to pass not only the physical tests, but the tests of mentality? Almost my whole family is or was in the army/royal marines, and not one of them is how you describe. They are smart people with a lot of sense, determination, courage and are now pretty well-off from their hard work.

Honestly, get a grip. I wonder where you'd be without your army. You should respect them more. They risk their own lives to keep you safe. I don't know everything about it, but really, do you take your safety for granted?

Your last question is moot. I didn't decide to have an army to protect me.
They were already there. I would not make the decision of getting some people to protect other people.
And I believe there are other ways to solve conflicts of opinion.

Pretty much every war, if not every war, has happened because someone wanted something from the occupying peoples. If the "leaders" were just a bit smarter than the people fighting for them, they would figure out another way to get what they wanted.

If every country agreed to disband their armies, what bad do you think could honestly come from that?
There is an agreement to disarm all nuclear bombs all over the world; a movement started by one man. That is a smart guy.
Why are armies any different? You THINK you need them for your protection. You don't.
A government wants something and uses their army to take it.

It's the same as any argument. Boy A wants Boy B's car.
Boy B says "Fuck you I want my car"
Boy A gets his gang of hoodlums to bash Boy B.
Boy B gets his gang of hoodlums to bash Boy A's hoodlums.
War ensues.

Which shows you that armies are unnecessary if we have good leaders.

Because the US army needs lots of soldiers and can't afford to be picky. That's not the case everywhere.

Also not every country is aggressive and invades everybody (*ahem* US *cough*). Most militaries are defensive in nature. You'd be speaking Japanese right now if it wasn't for your military.

I am sure there are a lot of countries in Africa or central America that would be happy to hire mercenaries if you are any good. Though I suppose of you were good you would of just joined the army where you live. I think the US will take you if you move here though.
