Strictly first impression, their face and body. Especially their face. I tend to like wide, expressive eyes that are fairly wide spaced (scientifically those things denote intelligence). Their body language also needs to communicate that they're fairly open and secure (not an anti-social hermit with no self esteem, but not a douchebag either). Voice is also a big thing.
