Now I will go in the hot tub to watch the meteor shower.

Oh shit!! Thanks for the remind...I had completely forgotten!!! Heading outside with my dog to try to find a decent spot to watch it from. Too bad it's cloudy as all hell tonight!

Oh ok... I've got about 4 hours till optimum viewing time... I can do my shopping and pick up some grub, then take a road trip out to the countryside away from city lights. This is really not a good town to try to view celestial events from, we're basically situated in the woods, and we see the sky only as patches through the heavy covering of treebranches. Beautiful, and I LOVE living here, but it does pose problems for things like meteor showers!

Well, got the shopping done. I love shopping after midnight! There's almost nobody in the store. Now all I need is for the clouds to part and the fog to lift

I can hardly even see the full moon... it looks all blurry and fuzzy thanks to the clouds, but I can hardly even see the clouds thanks to the thick fog!! It's so foggy your clothes and hair start dripping in a few minutes.

2 hours for it all to clear. Any weather elementals out there?

Well, the fog has cleared, but the clouds are still thick. The moon looks like a spotlight trying feebly to shine through thick wads of cotton wool... ten minutes till optimal viewing time... and a couple hours left till sunrise. Still a chance...

Damn fog came back.

Nary a glimpse of blackn'd Cosmos did I see this fine foggy morn.

It was still fun though... anticipation and all. The dog got really excited cause I kept taking her out several times all throughout the night. So I didn't get to see a couple of white streaks move in the sky....

We've got a whole lot in common Atras. Except I'm way too lazy to like hiking and all that. I stick to video games instead. xD And I'm far too picky an eater to be a vegetarian. I agree with everything else you've said though. ^^

I've got just one more to add: I believe you can truly love your friends, without meaning anything sexual by it. And I believe that more people need to start loving their friends like that.

Ok, after last night's Fiasco of Fog, decided to head out again tonight to try to see the Perseids meteor shower. ... no fog and only a very diffuse cloud layer up high - so at least the brightest stars are clearly visible. Made a sandwich and walked Pepper down to a very large sloping yard like a golf green that has a stone wall built around the upper part of it. Viewing conditions were actually much better than I expected because for some reason the street light just nearby wasn't working. I lay down in slightly damp grass, which made me feel like a kid again, and just watched the sky. It was really cool because we were nestled into a bend in the low stone wall, and it almost felt like our own little private spot - even if any cars had gone by (none did) I would have been invisible under the edge of the wall, (though Pepper sat with her head high enough they would have seen her).

Probably spent abut 15 minutes there and saw 3 shooting stars. LOL, I'd laugh and get all excited every time, and my dog would start looking around like "What... I don't see anything?"

All in all a very cool experience!

Apparently I wouldn't have been able to see it. Coz I'm in the southern part of Australia, and it was foggy as hell.
But just remember next time! haha

Haha, no it's just I hate missing those sort of things. And I'd probably rarely see these events if people didn't tell me, since I don't check nasa or other space websites daily.

So does mine. Although I posted a picture a while ago, so it's not really something people don't know lol
Sometimes it's more noticeable, if I'm tired. Not sure whether it makes me look spaced out though. No one's ever said that.

Well, I think my eyes look a little more distant (not sure that's the right word...it's 2:30 AM) than most, not sure if the eyelid has anything to do with it.
