Does anybody keep up with people who were regulars here last decade and never come here any more? We're missing a lot of them. It would be interesting to get some updates. I am a little bit extra curious about Mes Tarrant, and I do admit it has a bit to do with how good she looked in the pictures she posted.

I know TweaK and Techboy (may have changed to Dmerzel on here) are still alive. I chat at them occasionally. I'd like to hear some updates on Kaniaz. Last I heard he went off to be some math genius at Cambridge or something.

A couple years ago, CT said he was in college (I think) and had a boyfriend. Then CT lost touch with him completely.

I'd sure like to know how he is these days too..

There wasn't a direct link anywhere to the IRC. Was just some members that got it together by themselves.

There was that embedded thing in 2005. I liked it, but it was better for maybe 10-20 active chatters. Anything more than that just lagged for everyone. Kaniaz made it snow in there one christmas, that was kinda fun.

Was the embedded the flashchat? I don't remember this, but I was pretty young.

I don't know if it was called flashchat or not. I remember flashchat being this ugly blue thing in like, 2007 or so. The embedded one was a small square that would pop up when you clicked on "chat." And THe colors and fonts and even smilies matched the php software of that time. It was literally our first DV "chat room." Icedawg used to test the kick function on nightowl whenever he went idle too long. I'm trying to remember more, but this was almost 10 years ago..

edit: oh and I don't believe there were even ops at all, just icedawg, but I don't remember for sure. And I'm pretty sure it would say who all was in there before you even logged on. I remember looking and thinking "Oh, TornadoJoe is in there, I'll sign on." Oh yeah, and you could do an invite command that would go to the user's PM inbox if they were online at the time.
