Stormcrow and Zhaylin summed it up pretty well.

I've posted in other threads about how I do this, so won't babble on about it here. I think the most important thing in your case is to just go out into the woods for a few days, alone, and see how you fare. You will (most likely) find that it sucks and you hate it. If not, you will probably prefer to camp only now and then, rather than all the time. Even I don't do it all the time. I will go for 6 months or so and then get an apartment for a while. I appreciate both worlds.

Experience will show you that living wild is nothing but survival 24/7. What free time you do have you might consider boring without money to buy books, a laptop, and other amenities, and you probably have no idea how quiet it gets out there.

Harassment comes with the territory as well. I've had forest rangers nearly pull weapons on me at times.

If you are worried about bills and the like, then don't make any. Study how to live a simple lifestyle. Don't get a credit card or a cell phone. I have 2 bills; car insurance and registration (my internet is free at hot spots). I pay rent sometimes too. Study economics and find out how much you need in luxury versus how much it will cost you in money and grief. Thoreau is a good place to start. You don't have to live in a cave to avoid a complicated lifestyle. Test the waters before you dive in, you might find that you don't need to. Don't constrain yourself unnecessarily

As has already been stated, tell your parents you are going camping for the weekend and just go do it. Chances are you will never do it again.

If on the other hand you enjoy it, then welcome to the club.
