Thread: Bob is building an army XD an army against you tube.

I'm not going to go around spamming other people's channels with that shit. Not to mention, I haven't even signed up for Google+ so I don't even think I could if I wanted too.

It seems to be only used on Google's "featured" section that they have high financial gain to promote and are doing so excessively on the front page. I condemn spamming actual users channels as well, and would never ask people to do as such. Tho if you ask me the ultimate spam is Google popping up spam that we need Google+ to do anything, on every channel we go to. I'm not happy that people are spamming, I'm happy that people noticed they were being pushed into new territory and rightfully stated we are mad as hell. Even if that statement involves a badly put together tank and stick figure of text. The statement is still valid, people should complain.

It seems like a good portion of the community is doing it tho. I can't because I don't want a Google+ even if they did ban everyone who spams this, the whole flaw of Google+ and You Tube integration is you can keep on making new account's after one is banned. When Google say's they made the Google+ force to stop spamming and other such nonsense, it's all lie's, it's to force Google+ on everyone, that's it. You Tube comment section has gone to hell since the forcing of Google+ and this whole Bob thing is a great example. If they get banned for spamming, they loose the web traffic that feed's the ad's. In the end the right thing, is for Google to let people decide if they want Google+ on their you tube if they want, and to allow for normal conversation, like before, also the top comment's now are the worst comment's because Google is making the top comment's not what is liked but rather what is getting attention and reply's on Google+ and we all know who get's the most responses, vile trolls and since giving a thumbs down is now considered a reply on your Google+ a horrible comment that used to be hidden is now front and center.
Proof of this is this Bob thing it is invading the top comments like a virus, because Google wanted us to generate traffic. They brought this crap on themselves.

This petition is getting a lot of attention and a lot of sighing,and is already at nearly 120,000 votes.

You do realise that Youtube literally has hundreds of millions of users? Perhaps a fraction of a promille og these people have actually done this.

I hate the new YouTube set up, I think it's majorly disrespectful to the users, and it's really bad business. Google has gotten cocky because they think nobody will ever be able to really compete with YouTube. I think they are wrong. They have been so rude to their customers that I think the market is very ripe for competition.

The major change is that instead of replies going straight to the top of a thread, they just go under the comment they are replies to. So if that comment gets buried, the replies are automatically buried no matter how recent they are. Also, you get notified about every thumbs up you get. That is a good thing here because not anywhere near as many people use the site. On YouTube, a user might comment on dozens of videos a day and get dozens of likes for each one. The notifications for replies give the same kind of altert, so you might think you have had some replies and it turns out that you have just gotten likes. I liked knowing right off when I had replies and not getting constant notifications for likes.

Google also screwed up YouTube by making it where you can no longer decorate your channel with art. Now they have some piss ant rectangle at the top of the channel where you can put a picture that you choose from a small selection they give you. Profile pictures have an outrageous pixel standard they didn't used to have. Advertisements got extremely obnoxious and probably still are. I got Firefox with Adblock because of YouTube's advertising rudeness. They got to the point of bumping me off video pages mid-video to show me ridiculous advertisements. It's as if control freaks at Google are just getting their kicks with their monopoly.

I am so ready for YouTube to have major competition. I bet all of this changes in a hurry when they do. It's coming.

This logic is flawed. When Xbox One was announced as online only (once every 24 hours or no working system), only a fraction of people who didn't have consistent broadband would have been affected by it. But they started becoming loud and vocal about their right's as consumers, and Microsoft caved for a fraction of it's users. And what of the millions who say nothing you speak of? That petition I linked already has 200,00 sig's. Now that's almost 1/4million and the masses usually never bother with change.org or petition's. "Samsung: stop exploiting child laborers" has less sig's than the you tube petition, the general public care's more about what you tube has done than even something as serious as international child laborer.

For all their reputation for genius, I've always found the company to be surprising inept at anything other than its PageRank algorithm. YouTube has always lacked basic functionality (you can't even view video ratings whilst browsing), was ineptly laid out and had many bugs. Even Google's homepage has been going the same way with their botched attempt to merge it with Google+ and Chrome... it's cluttered, hard to navigate, and lacks basic features. They've totally dropped the ball on social media; this latest cock-up is just them throwing a paddy about that, and trying to force everybody to use their crap. The rhetoric about anonymity being pernicious is bollocks, they've always been completely blase, famously so, about the nastier comments on YouTube.

I hate that they changed it it is so annoying I actually have been posting comments like that because I am tired of Google+messing up YouTube.

Sorry if that wasn't clear. I think protests are a very strong tool, even with very small turn ups. That said, this is hardly a protest, since people are literally sitting in their comfortable chair at home, copy pasting a message on every video they watch, which is pretty much the core of the problem. People have to stop using Youtube, if they want to send a message. You are still giving Google your data, when you are watching videos on their website, and that's all that matters in the end. Their comments section is notoriously shit, and they couldn't care less about people filling it with more shit.

I overreacted, and obviously looking at that stupid thing it's obviously in retrospect not something I want spammed all over you tube, or any site. But I still strongly feel over the last two years like Google took youtube which up till that point, had smartly kept pretty much the same except for increasing in resolution options. Then suddenly stabbed us in the backs took away our rights, flagged other peoples and in my case, my videos that were just me playing a video game, that was made by an indie developer that actually did not want flagged himself, but because this game happened to get picked up by Microsoft, who also did not want the videos flagged, youtube stated uh like rights and stuff l takedown notice! Why? Because they did not care and did not feel the need to check before they decided everyone who is not some major money making machine should have all their content removed because they are weak bandwidth hogs with no hope of ad revenue.

Then the ultimate final insult: They forced everyone to make a nonsense me me me facebook clone plus account and have it tethered together with anything I, or anyone say's on youtube. No I and many others do not like that one bit, guess what bob's crappy html army died a slow death, but you want to know what? Many people left outright rather than give in me included, that's the real army that's the power, the feeling of what's right whats wrong, and whats for sale. And what is for sale? You! You let them put pay per click ad's all over everything unless your good at debugging scripts, they sell your video habits to ad revenue centers to build ad choices around you. That's why they want you to tether everything together, so it's easy to sell. Not because Meany mick Mean left an anonymous comment. I am currently looking at The script debug of youtube :
