A popularity system is a bad idea in the first place, as it implies we're all socially retarded and simplifies the whole social system of life. But one based on posting would be even worse, it would promote spamming. |

We had this at our clan forum. It was kinda nice...you could get these little gifts to send to people, you could change peoples names and avatars, you could make a custom title.... |

If not for a certain "type" of member (of which we have a few) that would rate more for political/comedic/self-serving reasons, rather than as an actual gauge of quality, I'd say that just might be a good idea. |

These statistically insignficant contributors would rest in the outliers of the significant distribution of voters. I doubt that, in the range of votes, these individuals would make a significant impact that would compromise a normal distribution of voters given that the common poster takes the time to actually vote. |
