And now the truth about Australia... is that:

Kangaroos AREN'T everywhere. You'd be VERY lucky to see one anywhere near a major city.

NO-ONE says "Cobba".

G'day is a casual thing, very rare too.

"Mate" is used sparingly.

Nicknames ending in "Y" or "O" are common. EG: Johno.

Also, yeah... We are a pretty beautiful country.

And our accent's are unique i guess... But australia is truthfully a large melting pot of the worlds cultures.

Oh, our government sucks too... just like EVERYwhere else.

I dun think Australia is that much of a dangerous place like some ppl think it to be (cause of the fauna and flora). But I guess I need to live elsewhere to beable to compare.

And tourists tend to think it's hot 24/7 in Australia. FALSE. Where I'm at, it's like cool/cold half of the year. I actually hate the weather here lol.

Yeah I am. We're probably closer to each other than we think. xD And depends. I'm wary when it comes to meeting new ppl from the net.

I'm Aussie too! Though an Adelaidian, right in the middle at the bottom with our own crazy screwed up timezone... NT doesn't do DST apparently... And Japan isn't half an hour out of the rest of the world.

I say G'day quite often.
We get the occasional kangaroo near our house.
Kookaburras yell at me from trees in our backyard.
I use crazy amounts of vegemite on my toast.
Me and my dog once got chased by a crazy koala.
We get snakes in our backyard when its hot.

I laugh and think, this is Australia.

I took a video of the resident Kangaroo and her joey just before I left for Japan. They'd been living on our property for the past month or so, nearly hit them a dozen times coming up my driveway . Where abouts Adelaide sol?
I could never stand vegemite... We had an echidna try and dig straight down to escape from us...It didn't get far...(echidna is not recognized by my browsers spell checker) I picked up a brown snake in the bath... I have no idea how it got in our drains...I thought it was a feather, I was 6.

Wow, what happened with the snake, did you get bitten?

Without giving too much away, I'm about 20ks in a southernly direction from the city, how bout you?

Surprisingly no, thankfully too... It was a baby one, I think judging by the size , but when it moved, I dropped it and jumped out of the bath. At my age that would've ended very badly for me.
I'm mostly east, and a bit north of the city, though to get to places like Elizabeth in the suburbs I have to go a little further north. About 40 mins from the city.
Ooh, I don't get the chance to head down that way too much, the farthest south of the city I've gone recently is Henley beach Went down to Aldinga for a school camp about 10 years ago though... though that's about 50km south
