MM is the best time-travel plot I have ever seen, beating even Chrono Trigger.

Mario doesn't have an attack range, he jumps on things.
LOL. He does have a friggin attack range. His hands when he punches. His feet when he jumps. His whole body as Metal Mario, and so on. You have got to be kidding me when you say he doesn't have an attack range.

You don't go into a Mario game expecting Zelda handling and vice-versa.. Two different worlds. Both great games.
LOL this is just style without substance. Zelda's underwater controls aren't plot-specific, and are from the same platform. MM's swimming wasn't something Zelda-like, it was just a damn control. Of course I would never compare Zelda's sword handling with Mario's attacks, but when it comes to walking, jumping, camera handling, swimming and etc, then yes, you can compare the games (since they are both 64 games - as many people and I said, don't compare different platforms and ages)

And don't talk about something complicated like programming when you know nothing about it.
And who the fag are you to know if I know programming or not? Saying Mario doesn't have an attack range, the one who seems like he doesn't know heck about game programming is you.

All you people are going just nuts criticising me for my rant on SM64. Then you say I take this thing too seriously. It was just a rant, as I made explicit in the OP. I think the game sucks. No need to get mad over it. Stop bothering. And go live your life.

People have beaten the game with 120 stars in less time that you guys have spent arguing about it.

      Just throwing that out there.

He jumps on people, and if you actually use his fists that much in the game.. I can understand why you have such a hard time..

It's not our fault you suck at Super Mario 64, nor is it the programmers fault. Fists suck, don't use them.. Run into people when your metal mario and jump on everything most of the time... It's that simple..

Comparing the handling of a platformer and an adventure game is pointless.. Next you'll be comparing RTS and FPS!!!

Who the fuck are you to call me a fucking fag, you god damn pre-pubescent.
      You know nothing about programming.

Computer programming (often shortened to programming or coding) is the process of writing, testing, debugging/troubleshooting, and maintaining the source code of computer programs. This source code is written in a programming language. The code may be a modification of an existing source or something completely new. The purpose of programming is to create a program that exhibits a certain desired behaviour (customization). The process of writing source code often requires expertise in many different subjects, including knowledge of the application domain, specialized algorithms and formal logic.
Playing video games, and talking on forums does not make you an expert in programming. So don't bother trying to talk about it like you know what you are talking about when you aren't.

MARIO HAS NO ATTACK RANGE BECAUSE HE NEVER HAS USED HIS FISTS. HE ALWAYS JUMPS OR SHOOTS THINGS AT PEOPLE. THAT IS A MARIO GAME.

      1) I didn't use the fists as much as you assume I did, otherwise I wouldn't have been able to clear the game, I think -.-

      2) If the fists are useless, why even have them? lol

Who the fuck are you to call me a fucking fag, you god damn pre-pubescent.
      You know nothing about programming.
xD Although I agree I have a youthful face and refreshing personality, you can't really call me pre-pubescent. I will turn 18 in less than a month. Furthermore, don't judge people based on their age - it's stupid.

Playing video games, and talking on forums does not make you an expert in programming. So don't bother trying to talk about it like you know what you are talking about when you aren't.
LOL my friend, do you really know my entire history to say I only play videogames and talked on forums? I've developed several rpg games (including action-battle rpg) all by myself, and helped develop/assisted many adventure ones.

Then his attack range is his surface of his friggin shoes, you idiot. It's the part of him that is immune to enemy damage and is capable of damaging enemies - that is what one defines as attack range. If he attacked with his ass, his ass would be his attack range. Don't make more of a fool of yourself.

I didn't make the game, I didn't say it was perfect. Why the fist and not fireballs for instance, fuck if I know. Bad decisions.

Doesn't mean the game is terrible.
I don't judge people based on age, but by your typing I could tell you were younger. They way you present yourself has been childish.

At 17, or 18 you can not have developed anything other than some hokey tokey hornschwagal. I'm sure you have a publisher and everything right, EA games.

Obviously can't understand what I mean.

Attack range is the distance an attacker can make on an object.

Mario has no attack range, he has to literally jump or get right in his face.
Link has an attack range, his sword streches out quite far when swung.

      Jeez.

I actually like to look younger when I write. I just really enjoy messing up with the minds of people who judge others based on their writing and not the opinions they express. I don't think you even imagined English could not have been my first language, nor my second one.

Also, of course the games I developed weren't branded masterpieces, but I have spent years on this as a hobby. Makes me experienced enough to tell when a game could have been much better. Stuff like Runescape, or Wario Land 4. I've also played many games, commercial and amateur.

You seriously have no idea what an attack range is. You can program it to be on Mario's head, but then you'd always have to get enemies from below. Under his feet or on his fists, Mario has an attack range.

Mario 64 is a classic because it was revolutionary. It introduced many things into the 3D genre, including a dynamic camera (given, not a very good one), analog control, and a fully explorable, interactive environment. This was the first time anyone was successful bringing the platforming genre to 3D. The camera was clunky, but it was the first time anyone had used a camera that could be controlled independently of the character (with the character moving in relation to the camera). Comparing it to other N64 games is not even fair, since it was the first. You would have to compare it to 3D PC titles available at the time, which relied on a first person perspective, which does not work for platforming.

The very reason you are so spoiled now is because so many games have built on the foundation this game established.

I thought mario 64 was fantastic. The camera angles take a minute to get used to, but it's not bad at all compared to a whole lot of 64 and playstation games.

It's the only good mario game thats in 3D. Mario sunshine and all the newer marios I've played are absolutely retarted. Why the fuck does he have a squirt gun? Mario uses various plants, herbs, and fungi to give him super powers. He doesn't need some weak power washer. If your gonna make a rant about a mario game it really should be mario sunshine.
157 is a prime number. The next prime is 163 and the previous prime is 151, which with 157 form a sexy prime triplet. Taking the arithmetic mean of those primes yields 157, thus it is a balanced prime.

157 is a prime number. The next prime is 163 and the previous prime is 151, which with 157 form a sexy prime triplet. Taking the arithmetic mean of those primes yields 157, thus it is a balanced prime.
