I hated Bush from the beginning, but after looking into it more, I dispise the bastard. Why the hell does anyone vote for him? I guess the terrorists didn't assassinate him just to piss us off in the first place... [/b]
      That makes hella sense

This is seriously depressing. How do you support a man who starts a war based on lies, kills around 150,000 civilians, burns around 10 trillion bucks and creates a giant deficit, taxes the middle class and gives it to the super-rich, fails to stop the worst terrorist attack in US history, makes most of the world hate everything he stands for, and then has the nerve to say that he's making America safer and has moral values (he can't admit a single mistake). And people buy it. It's just baffling, defying all logic (I did about 100 dream checks today, in disbelief), and I wouldn't be surprised if tomorrow gravity reversed, or the sun stopped shining. Well, I did everything I could, even got a couple of people to vote for Kerry, but it wasn't enough.

I used to remember when the world loved the land of the free, I was talking about this with some Engliah and US mates over here in the UK. People used to have US flags, those stickers with the two fingers up, coloured as the star spangeled banner etc. America was an exciting place to think about where super heros lived, cowboys and injuns roamed, and everyone was free...

You won't find a US flag in any teenagers bedroom these days, when people think of America they think of right wing christian cowboys and a voting system entirely based on how much money you have or if you can con church congregations into beleiving that those Imoral homosexuals are gonna take over. Voting for Bush for 4 years is like saying "the rest of the world can go whistle, we don't care about you, or working with you, we'll do what we want reguardless what you think." Its makes me so mad , I'm putting all my American freinds back on a plane to live in a swing state and breed, make more sane people.

I really don't think that most Americans know how much of a slap in the face this has been for the rest of the world, maybe they are the majority of people that don't own a passport or have never travelled outside the US but can this be an excuse?

Some people outside of the US have some huge egos. Where do they get off trying to tell the US what to do. They want the US to listen to them but they outright ignore us. It goes both ways you know. Its like with france, they actively try to undermind to the US and do us harm, then they cry that we ignore them. A lot of them are filling their pockets with blood money they got from starving the iraq people, and we are some how wrong for cutting them off? I think not. The rest of the world needs a slap in the face. The US is always doing everything, all over the place, we spend insane amount of money HELPING people only because its the right thing to do. We ask for help with one thing and then they wont help because they are taking illegals bribes from sadam at the expense of the iraq people.

Then your going to say the US has huge morals problems because most of their people are against killing unborn children and wont legalize drugs. Give me brake.

Bush declared war because EVERYONE thought that some thing should be done about sadam. The UN kept saying they would do something but they can't back up their own words, so we did it for them. Congress voted for the war, so the idea that it is bushs war is stupid. Most people where for the war back then, and bush never lied. He said what everyone at the time believed as fact, and he did the right thing. Sadam is no an honorable man, you can not take his word for anything, so if he didn't want to show proof, well you know what happened.

The economy was going into a recission before bush took office. 9/11 made it even worse so a lot of jobs where lost. Since then bush had regain a ton of jobs, and we are doing a lot better. I don't know if you believe in magic and think bush can wave a wand around to either make or lose jobs, thats not how it works.

Most people do not think its a pointless war, and in wars people die. Its a sad thing but you can hardly expect a war where no one dies. With the choice between americans dieing at home or soliders dieing in iraq, most people would pick the second. Its their job, its what they are trained to do, its what they want to do, and they have weapons and armor to fight with while people here have no defense if someone wanted to drive a car bomb into their house.

Yes, now we've sent all the poor kids overseas to take the bullets. When terrorists strike here, they often kill people with incomes above the poverty line, which is unconscionable. And of course, these guys volunteered--seeing no other prospects for work or education, they joined a military that promised both, knowing that under certain circumstances (say oil executives gain control of the White House) they might be used as human shields.

I would say hate adn fear won this election for Haliburton & co.--they got "I don't wanna look at homos" amendments on a lot of state ballots, drawing fearful Christian peoples out of their gated communities to defend hate. Eleven states have now added these amendments to their constitutions, proudly declaring, "Intolerance is inherent in our identity."

My work here in Ohio closed yesterday because we were all too depressed by the outcome of the election, and what it says about the people we interact with on a daily basis.
If you have a sense of caring for others, you will manifest a kind of inner strength in spite of your own difficulties and problems. With this strength, your own problems will seem less significant and bothersome to you. By going beyond your own problems and taking care of others, you gain inner strength, self-confidence, courage, and a greater sense of calm.Dalai Lama

I can't believe you just said that. I am hoping I just read that wrong and you weren't trying to imply its better to let another 9/11 happen than to lose troops in iraq because 9/11 killed people with jobs and not poor people.

Ah politics! This is one reason why I want my own south pacific island nation! My flag would be simple.

The difference is one can defend themself and others cant. One is looking for people who want to hurt us and the others are not. One gets paid for it the others don't. Has nothing to do with anyone being poor.

For the last fucking time people: Iraq has no relationship whatsoever with 9/11 or Al-Quaeda, as per the Bush Administration, so not going to war with Iraq doesn't mean that the big bad terrorists would have stuck again. Instead of actually going after the people that have declared that they want to attack america(such as the still missing Osama bin Laden) they decide to completely selflessly "help" the poor poor fragile people of Iraq by bombing their country and killing their relatives and friends. I understand people die in wars, but I truly feel that one life is worth everything. And to declare war when there is no true reason to do so is just so a crime against humanity. Sometimes I see what's going on and I just want to cry...out of frustration and just how far off we've strayed from our nature. From everything that is good about humans, from all our potential. Instead we have become caught up in this idiotic game of bureocracy and policies and ideologies and money and so many other things, rather than just embracing we are all the same and want the same thing: To live. As happy and realized as possible.

It really pisses me off that the US think they are the saviors of the world and that with their "perfect" democracy and economy the world will be saved. Then again I wonder, what are we supposed to be saved from?

P.S. Alric...if you think that the cause of the U.S is so noble and so pure, why don't you go and enlist yourself? Are you ready to die to "save" Iraq? Are you ready to die for international policies? Are you ready to die for something that truly doesn't matter?
      If I hadn't made me
I'd be more inclined to bow
Powers that be would have swallowed me up
But that's more than I can allow...

People aren't so bright when it comes to the reason why 9/11 happened in the first place. It's because of Israel...they are our 51st state (even Kerry's stepson said this)....they are our spoiled child...and it's funny but occassionaly the US even finds them spying on us!!! Haha...go figure. Anyway...what Bin Laden said in his tape was that if we do not chage our policies in the Middle East (meaning giving money and weapons to the Israelis to kill and wipe out the Palestinians from the face of the Earth) there WILL BE another 9/11...he made that clear. The American people do not know the REAL REASON why we were attacked...so they throw around this bullshit about "Freedom" and religion, when really it all comes down to Israel. There will be terrorists in the Middle East that want us dead as long as we are allowing the Israeli Occupation and slaughter of the Palestinian people...but you won't find this ANYWHERE in the Western media. So no one knows...it's sad. It's disgusting how ignorant Americans are, so they buy into the bullshit that 9/11 and Bin Laden are connected with Saddam and Iraq. So NOT TRUE. Bin Laden and Saddam didn't even LIKE each other. God...I'm tired of the ignorance. Whatever! 4 MORE YEARS!
