      I'm seeing white bright spots

For the first time just a couple of minutes ago I saw them out of the corner of my eye. They looked sort of like stars only they floated around like flies. They pretty much vanished before I could get a good look at them.

Is this a sign of high blood pressure?

This is more than just your everyday floater, no? Or it is some other entoptic phenomenon?

It could be floaters, or something else.

You could have "seen stars" as pressure gets applied somewhere near the eyes, sometimes if you close your eyes hard or rub them you can see small white stuff.

I have sometimes seen small bright stars shimmer on my with the peripheral vision, typical when I am out in the sun.

If you don't see these things for a while then forget about it, but if they persist then go to an eye doctor.

That just sounded funny to me.

I always get dizzy and stuff when I stand up. Could it have been that? My vision starts to close in, and everything seems weird, like if you pushed on your eyes for a few minutes.

Maybe it was that? I don't know what that is either.

Had you just stood up? Perhaps from the toilet or something. Maybe the blood wash rushing back to/ away from the head as you stood up after a while.

Had you just deposited a floater of another kind into the toilet? Apparently pressure can build around the eye and face muscles with... squeezing.

I'm glad I was typing that, there's no way i could say that with a straight face.

I see those all the time. I think its a sign of dehydration rather than high blood pressure.

You know what, I never thought about the term "floater" in that sense when I posted that. Goes to show that my mind isn't in the gutter all of the time.

The "dizzy upon standing" feeling is what I used to call a "head rush." I don't get them so often anymore, but it is more pronounced when I'm dehydrated.

Aye. I get those every month or so. I've always written them off as a change in blood pressure, but dehydration could definitely play a major role too.
Were you overheated (was the bathroom steaming?) If there was a lot of steam and heat you may have had reduced oxygen which could have caused it.

You mean like a head rush? that, for me, just cause a momentary light head and blurred vision, he's seeing a light, and he was standing up

Dehydration makes perfect sense. The day before I attended a 2 day college orientation and it was really humid out.

I did choose bottles of water over soda, but I guess those small bottles couldn't put it all back.

should definately get your BP checked anyway just to be on the safe side. Make sure you don't have pre-hypertension.

I've got this before TOO! looking in the mirror. If you find out what it is, make sure you post it here. I think I found out once but then lost the link.
I had it once also when I jumped into the pool trying to do a front flip and landed on my back. Dunno if pressure on the eyes would cause it or pressure on the head? Not too sure.
      It's interesting though.

      Maybe this?http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blue_fi...tic_phenomenon
