      Got my beginner's license on Friday...

      I drove around our neighborhood with my dad, but I have an issue; I have difficulty stopping right away. I kind of press on the brakes, and then harder, and harder, and THEN I stop. Because of this, I hit the curb with my dad's new Infinity, and he had to get out and check the tires... ^^;

      Any tips on how I can fix this? T_T Or any other beginner tips you'd want to share?

      You've got to feel the car, feel its movement, feel the difference in motion depending on the pressure you put on the different pedals, get to know that, get used to that. Then the amount of pressure you put on will become naturally perfect.

      Demara, congratlations on getting your "permit" As slash was saying, just get to know how the car feels. Your brakes might just not be as sensitive as another car's, but you'll figure it out with practice. Just make sure to try and relax when you drive and be mindful of your surroundings.

      Other than that, enjoy driving! Heaven knows I do.

      congrats on your permit!! What kind of Infiniti does your dad have?? I just got a new 2009 Infiniti G37S sedan (as my first car).

      As for your problem... it really just takes timing and practice. and it depends on your car. Knowing a bit about infinitis, if your dad has an S model, the Brembo brakes are AMAZING, and all you have to do it push a bit harder, and they won't fail, plus the stop should be smooth.
      I learned how to drive on my mom's Mercedes SUV and the brakes were brutal... I barely tapped and they would jerk the car kinda, so I was slow on the brakes with my new Infiniti also, and I had to adjust and just press down a bit harder.

      I'm sure you will adjust and learn after about a little bit of practice.
      Good luck!! Have fun driving!

      I too got mine like a few weeks ago. The longest I've driven was 10 minutes on fairly busy road.

      Congrats!
      If you see a strange typo in my post, blame my iPad for that.

      It's ok. I was not SO happy unlike lots of other people when I passed the writen temps test, not at all. Got my permit a few weeks later, some got it on the same day. Overall, it's ok. I am not like hyped to get my liscence or anything, I'm doing pretty good. Only have driven up to 15 minutes at a time so far, in my area it's also not super crowded, so driving around here shouldn't be too bad.

      I was one of the people who got it then haha. I LOVE driving lol.
      and a lot of freedom from my parents haha.
