Ever get that hair cut that you just don't like?

Yeah that's been my story all my life. I don't know why but no haircutter can understand that I want my hair long, but out of my eyes.

I usually tell them to trim my bangs just above my eyebrows, and keep everything long but manageable. Despite being "professionals" they can't understand hair is "longer" when its wet. Every time I look at myself in the mirror it really feels like I'm in a different body. It's just uncomfortable with short hair.

But rant over. It will grow back in time, it always does. But this has got me thinking. People who cut hair are people... They have to practice to get better right? How exactly do they practice?

And that brings further questions. Obviously if you compare haircutters to painters, the very few can make those "masterpieces", while the majority are either bad, ok or good. Wouldn't haircutter's be the same. There are so few, employement would have to lower their standards right?

Aside from occasionally getting my ends trimmed. I generally don't cut my hair.

My only problem is when it gets too long. Unlike most other people's, mine is just curly enough that it doesn't behave like straight hair, but not curly enough that it appears so. It always grows out into a pseudo-fro that doesn't fit under my work hat.

Any cut works as long as it's short.

I got a terrible haircut from someone very inexperienced.

      I. hate. it. The fringe was terribly jagged, so my dad trimmed it. Then I trimmed it, since my dad messed it up. Now it's very short, too short. Nothing can be done.

I get mine cut really short. I've never had a truly bad haircut, except when my dad tried to do it himself.

I have stopped using hairdressers because they never get it right. They always end up giving me a mullet or some sort.
They are too use to giving lads short back and sides. So when I walk in asking for a trim they crap themselves.

So up till recently my sister has cut it for me shes a trainee hairdresser and I trust her way more.

I like my hair dresser. I go to the hair cuttery and there's a lady there that I always get my haircut. I have longish hair (picture in spoiler), and she cuts it perfectly. I think it's just a matter of who you get to cut it. Also, I've had horrible haircuts happen to me before, I had them mess up like 3 times in a row and ended up giving me a horrible looking bowl cut

My hair stylist is pretty awesome, and never fucks up my hair color or the cut. My haircuts usually look awesome now

I got my long, beautiful hair cut today. It was beginning to pass into the phase where long hair on dudes looks too girly. The woman did a great job last time, but this time was a different story. It was like a lion's mane before, but now it just looks goofy. Needless to say I'm going to have to cut it again. This time even shorter x.x

never pay for an under double-digit dollar value of a haircut

and if you find a hairstylist who impressed you at some point, make sure to tip a fair amount ~ and you found yourself with one less thing to worry about when it comes to your hair.

No complaints from me. I usually have one of only two hairstyles: Buzz-cut or long. So it's kind of hard for anyone to fuck up my hair. Only on the most special of occasions will I get a haircut of normal length, and when I do, the barber's work is usually satisfactory.

When I was a kid my mom insisted I have my hair permed all the freagin time. I hated them. But my hair is straight and stringy and she just couldn't handle that lol.
Now I cut my own hair. I go to the hairdresser if I make it seriously uneven, but I've been getting better lol
I don't style my hair (with fancy cuts), though so it's not hard to trim it myself. I only CUT it if I become extremely over-emotional for a long period of time. The change helps snap me out of my mood

^That's due to the fact that it grows back unevenly, since the human head isn't flat. It's usually a good idea to have a barber straighten it out during that in-between stage, but only if they know what the hell they're doing.

...On a side note, my hair's so long now that when I straighten it out, I've got Toki Wartooth hair.

My dad always got my hair cut super short (like a boy's) when I was young. I had no say in it, and I have no fucking idea why he did it. But all throughout my childhood, I got cuts like that. I remember he always promised he wouldn't get it cut too short, and I'd sit through the haircutter's feeling very hopeful. But they'd always cut it short, and I always cried afterwards. Now that I really think about it, I really don't understand why he did this. =/

      Spoiler for yeah:

Just didn't suit my super curly hair.

I've had my sister, my mother, my father and numerous hair dressers cut my hair. Never been dissatisfied.
Nowadays, however, I don't really cut it. Just an inch or two at the end, to get the worn tips.
