      Underrated?

Think about how popular it was when films came out.

It got what it deserved very much so.

LotR is definitely not underrated...but for me when I think amazing magical immersive world regarding movies, my mind always heads to Middle Earth. Those movies were superb.

It's not physically impossible. Just find a spacecraft capable of travelling at relativistic speeds and chill out there whilst you travel at 99.99% of the speed of light. The billions of years of waiting for our sun to go red giant will just fly by.

Spaceship + electronic literate and cinematic library + tissue paper + immortality = billions of years flying by.

      It's feasible.

Fun thing about the speed of light: time stands virtually still the closer you get to it...well, for you, anyway. What seems like only a few years to you will be billions to the rest of the universe. If you got going fast enough, I imagine you'd be able to see the sun changing size and color. The human race would probably go extinct three seconds into the journey.

True...but you have to reach some breakneck speeds for that. The sun would be out of range by the time it blew up.

      A BIIIG circle.

And it wouldn't bee the same from a telescope. Just not as dramatic.

In that case, might I suggest a dark matter engine? The ship moves by manipulating the fabric of the space-time continuum around it...not sure if this would negate the effects of centrifugal force or not, but interesting to think about. Either way, it's light-years away (pun intended). Could be fun to try in a lucid, though.

In a lucid, all you would have to do is walk into space, sit down, and watch the sun blow up.

You wouldn't need any special Scientific instruments.

...but the scientific instruments make it more fun.

Also, the Warp Drive is what the Star Ship Enterprise used...you can't tell me you've never thought about saying, "Warp speed, Mr. Sulu."

Well, I don't think complex headache instruments would be as fun as just doing it. I would probably mess up some wires, and be frustrated, and then wake up.

But, if you mean impossible futuristic technology like Starship Enterprise, then, yeah! Of course it would be funner.

That's what I'm talking about! Like, a fully-crewed space ship, of which you are the captain. Trying to argue with the on-board computer wouldn't be much fun at all...sort of reminds me of HAL, actually. And we all know how THAT story went...
