Constructive Criticisms for my Induction Script

So I just wanted to post this here and get some thoughts and opinions on my first attempt at a script for an induction mp3 that I am making.

It's basically tailored to my own personal needs. What I am aiming for is something that will subliminally help me recall my dreams more frequently and with more accuracy. So far for October I was only able to fully recall and record ONE dream for thew hole month!

So anyway what I've done is taken some suggestions that I found on a blog about subliminal messaging and altered it to fit my needs. It includes some things specific to me personally. I have issues with concerns over safety in the 'other realms' so to speak so there's a heavy emphasis in the beginning on 'you are safe'.

I included the suggested positive reinforcements from the blog and then around those added in what I was aiming for with the dream recall and lucid dreaming in general. I'd like some thoughts and opinions on the style and placement of the affirmations and if I've done it all in an effective and logical way.

I don't want there to be too many affirmations and end up confusing my subconscious or whatever. I realize that too much can become too muddled and confusing while too little can become rather ineffective. So anyway... any help or thoughts or ideas or suggestions would be great, but only constructive critiques please.

      So here goes:

      I am completely comfortable.

All of my pain is gone.

I am surrounded by a brilliant white healing light.

Nothing bad can enter into this light that surrounds me.

I am safe and protected in this light.

This light heals my body and soul from the inside out.

Only positive things can enter into my light.

My light heals me and repels anything that could harm me.

      I am calm.

      I am safe.

      I am relaxed.

      I am completely comfortable.

All of my pain is gone.

I am surrounded by a brilliant white healing light.

Nothing bad can enter into this light that surrounds me.

I am safe and protected in this light.

This light heals my body and soul from the inside out.

Only positive things can enter into my light.

My light heals me and repells anything that could harm me.

      I am calm.

      I am safe.

      I am relaxed.

      Calm. Safe. Relaxed.

      Calm. Safe. Relaxed.

      Calm. Safe. Relaxed.

I love and respect myself completely.

I forgive myself for my mistakes.

I let go of my problems easily.

      I allow myself to change.

It is acceptable for changes to happen in my life .

I embrace changes in my life.

      I am a lucid dreamer.

I remember all of my dreams in vivid detail.

I am able to recall my dreams in perfect detail when I awaken.

I am confident in my abilities.

I have the power to control my dreams.

I can do anything in my dreams.

I am worthy of success in every way.

      I can lucid dream.

When I am dreaming, I realize I am dreaming.

When I realize I am dreaming, I can take control of my dreams.

      I feel good about myself.

I am in control of my dreams.

I can do anything in my dreams.

I can do anything I set my mind on.

      I am a lucid dreamer.

I remember all of my dreams in vivid detail.

I am able to recall my dreams in perfect detail when I awaken.

I am confident in my abilities.

I have the power to control my dreams.

      --------------

I plan to do this as a paraliminal mp3 with a completely inaudible subliminal track, a barely audible track that includes the script above, binural beats and nature sounds.

Well one thing I forgot to mention earlier was that it's fantastic when the script induces imagery like "I am surrounded by a brilliant white healing light." It works really well, maybe you could try add some extra's like water flowing over your toes then all the way up to your head for relaxation, something like that

I do as well The only reason I didn't include anything like that was simply because I'm incredibly visually oriented and since this is a going to sleep thing, I was a bit worried that 1. I would get distracted from actually trying to go to sleep and instead my focus would be on trying to visualize the water.... and 2. That I don't clutter it up and cause the subconscious to be trying to focus on too many things at once.

More induced imagery though might be helpful for easing into a relaxed state in the early parts of the mp3... almost sort of start it off like a regular meditation type thing rather than just nice nature-y sounds to fall asleep to?

Yes I think the success of most good mp3s is that they try to get people into that suggestible meditative/hypnotic state before bombarding the subconscious with instructions, I personally like imagery that is invoked (Like the bright light) without really having to think so that my mind drifts off.

*nodnods* Well this is meant to be listened to as you sleep. So I'll not be putting any of the instructions in at all until the final 30 minutes when most people should be in deep REM sleep other than the ultra high frequency subliminals which should be completely silent if all goes well Fingers crossed on that. If it sucks I'll remove it all together and go with the soft vocals masked by the nature sounds.

And, even the ultra high frequency subliminals will be in the second 30 minutes so most everyone including myself should be fairly well relaxed and into that in-between state. I hope

      Update:

Ok so I've three sections of 30 minutes each to follow an average 90 minute REM sleep cycle.

First 30... Guided relaxation meditation with soft building storm sounds.

2nd 30.... Soothing Remember Your Dreams script and UHF subliminals and thunderstorm.

3rd 30.... Continued script, UHF subs, thunderstorm and soft 'you are dreaming' alerts.

So I was thinking as I add in the various nature sounds I will gently describe them to bring them into focus just before they begin.

So like the intro with the white light... and once that's done, begin describing the sounds as they come into focus.

I am standing alone in a forest at night.

I begin to hear the soft sound of raindrops on leaves.

I hear crickets off in the distance.

Cicadas begin to join in with the crickets.

My light keeps me safe and warm and dry.

The song of the insects soothes me.

I find a place to sit on a warm dry rock protected by a fallen log that forms a sort of shelter.

As I sit on the log, I close my eyes and allow the song of the insects to wash over me.

      Their song is peaceful.

      Their song is calming.

As I listen to the insects sing and the rain fall around me,

I begin to feel my muscles relaxing.

All the stress of the day begins to fade away.

Nothing can upset me here in this place.

      This is my place.

As I sit, I hear distant thunder as a storm approaches.

I can see the sky lighting up with the lightning and I know that I am safe.

Here in this place, with my light around me and the insects singing, I cannot be harmed.

This thought eases the muscles in my head and in my face.

Like a warm blanket, the warmth of the light around me and the song of the insects wraps around me.

The muscles of my neck begin to relax and all the pain and discomfort fades away.

I can feel my shoulders starting to relax now as the thunderstorm closes in.

My back and chest begin to relax. All the stress is easing away.

All of the tightness and tension in my lower back and abdomen eases and fades.

My hips and legs become heavier and more relaxed.

The sounds wash over me like gentle waves and I feel my ankles slowly relax.

The backs of my feet and down into my arches and the tops of my feet and even my toes relax now.

My whole body is completely relaxed and all that I can feel or sense is the soft sounds of the insects and the rain and the thunderstorm in the distance.

I don't know if that sucks or not haha, but it's a shot

Very nice work. and i will add a bit of constructive critique. if i tell you "don't think of a barking dog" the first thing you will think of is a barking dog. can't help it if you hear or read it.
So when you use words like "stress" "upset" "pain" in the work, even though you are saying they are gone, it is still positively reinforcing the thought form of them. the word "stress" for example can create a ripple of that thought running around in the mind. especially as a person is drifting into a meditative state, last thing you want stuck on loop is the word "pain" or "upset"

An alternative would be to remove the line and replace it with an example of the feeling you get with "stress" is gone. equally, avoid opposites. so, removing the word "pain" does not mean putting in "pleasure", the mind understands opposites and can not be tricked.

I agree, as I already said in my PM the brain doesn't respond well to negative's. The same reason why mantra's should never be negative because it only takes a small spark to get the mind thinking negative thoughts or feelings.

Okay I get that. So... what should I use then? For me personally I have chronic pain and it's very difficult for me to get my mind off of that when I'm trying to relax so I need some way to sort of mentally shut that down. Every time I use a meditation mp3 and they do the thing where they walk you through your body relaxing, I end up realizing how much each part hurts and then I just hurt that much more.

what you are doing is fixating. a very natural reaction. A mild example of your condition is people who struggle to meditate because they are "itchy" now i've put that out there the next time you try to meditate you will feel a mild itch which moves around your body and irritates you out of the meditative state. why is the brain doing this? it's a resistance, a fight against the loss of self control. the inner self fears what it does not know about. like a dark ally. what will happen if you meditate deeply? what will you see where will you go? these questions are very deep and personal. fighting against the unknown is natural and your physical conditions of pain are only giving your mind a crutch to lean on and avoid the inevitable. the inevitable is that you will enter a deep state of meditation, you will experience the itch i have mentioned and then enter a deep state of meditation.

Why is the brain experiencing this fear? the physical part of the brain which activates when we experience "paranormal" experiences is located next to the part of your mind which experiences fear. The most common people who experience what you are going through are those who have experienced a paranormal phenomenon at some point in their life. typically a misunderstood childhood event. dreams as a child are often very complex and confusing.
This has caused a kind of bruise, an irritation in the mind which activates as you enter meditation.
how do you overcome this? 2 ways, the common socially accepted solution is very similar to OCD treatment, so you can look into exposure therapy if you want.
the other solution which i would recommend. when you are feeling the pain i want to you to mentally leap to a child hood memory. Any child hood memory will do. think about that event and within moments the actual event from your childhood which has caused a fear of the unknown will leap to your mind. just recall that event instead following the relaxation instructions that you are familiar with. dwell on the memory and relive it. as you do the meditation will deepen and you will be over it.

      best wishes.
