Hello All.
I am new to this forum, as well as to lucid dreaming. In fact, today is the first day I've really heard/read about the art of lucid dreaming. The thing is though, I believe I've been lucid dreaming for the past month or so, having nearly complete control over my dreams. Like I said, I'm still new to this so I guess the actuality of my Lucid Dreaming could be debatable, but I figured I'd still share my recent experiences.
It all started a few weeks ago. The first time was rather unique, as I was alone in a large stadium that had been converted into a movie theater for some sort of summer show (i used to work such shows back in high school). It was playing an old black and white movie , but the movie is still unfamiliar to me. Any ways, As i wandered the stadium, it took me awhile to realize that I was definitely dreaming, seeing how I could not find any sort of exit to leave the place. It was a weird feeling at first, but I can definitely remember the moment where I knew I was asleep. I revisited this place several nights in a row, gradually the stadium filled up with people, and I would find myself in a large box seat area with a girl I have been flirting with in real life for awhile. Nothing sexual happened with that, it was just interesting that she was there. I became pretty happy with this place. It came to where I actually started interacting with the people in the stadium, which included people that I've met throughout life, as well as people I don't believe I've ever seen. I visited this place 6 nights in a row, and in my mind, it was as real of a place as the movie theater down the road from me.
Now here is where the dream world comes into play. I can distinctly remember the first time I woke up in this new world. I remember sitting up in a swamp. I remember looking around, feeling the nasty swamp mud beneath me, and the water around me. It was night time, so it took a moment for my eyes to adjust. I stood up to take a look around, and the weird thing is, the first thing that went through my mind was... 'this is not the stadium'. I knew I was dreaming, I could even recall going to bed, the last facebook status i liked and so on. It was just weird to not be in the stadium. This is where the dream first took a turn for the weird. I heard someone call for my attention. I looked around and saw another kid my age (21), holding a finger up to his mouth to signal silence, while motioning with his other hand to get down. I nodded and agreed, crouching back down into the swamp water. He pointed across the way. What I saw, scared, yet excited me. It was a velociraptor. What I gather, Cause I don't remember what happened before I came aware of my dream, but IT had been chasing us. Apparently we had gone into the swamp to cover ourselves in mud and what not so that our scent would be eliminated, making it hard for the dino to follow us. It apparently worked because after 10 or so minutes, the thing was gone.
We left that swamp eventually, and started walking around. It was day time now, so I could see everything. Like Jurassic Park, we were on an Island inhabited by dinosaurs. It seemed to have been settled along time ago, but the old inhabitants must have either fled or been killed. I don't know. I had just entered this world, but I already loved it. There were gorgeous mountain peeks, amazing waterfalls, canyons that could rival the grand canyon, lush forests, It was a beautiful place. This entire time though, I knew I was dreaming, I mean c'mon, dinosaurs? Anyways, the first few times I visited this world, probably three nights in a row, it could have been considered a nightmare. We (meaning me and the other guy, who I call Kale, though he has yet to tell me his real name), were constantly terrorized by a vicious T-Rex who I dubbed Kratos, as well as velociraptors and other carnivorous dinosaurs. It was pretty terrifying.
Slowly though, as I visited this new world each night, I've slowly turned it into a sort of Dinotopia. I built safe compounds for residents, a sweet birds nest home on the highest peak, and have brought people to live on the Island. The weird thing is, when i talk about building, It's not like It just appears, but rather it seems to just form slowly out of the surrounding area. Tree's become security gates, large rocks turn into buildings... it really is quite spectacular to see. Over the past few weeks, this island really has turned into my dream world, with things I've always imagined a fantasy based world would have. The best thing about it is, It's all so real when I go to bed. I look forward to visiting the island. I would be pretty heart broken if I went to bed tonight, and didn't return, which in all likeliness could happen. I feel like it's my world, and right now, I really do love it.
Sorry for the length of the story. I tried to cut it down as much as I could, as I could probably literally write a novel about it. Anyways, this has been my experience so far with lucid dreaming, and like i said, it has been occurring every night now for the past month. I guess I should feel extremely lucky to have such luck, seeing as how some of the posts I've read so far, some people might only experience this kind of dream once every few years. It truly has been a great experience, and I'm wondering if Anybody else has had the same situation? I would definitely love to hear some stories about people's dream worlds. Also, if you guys want any more details about my world, I'd be more than happy to share haha.
