Question First successful WILD attempt and I heard my own heartbeat

Setting: I was in my bed, I had gone to sleep at about 2 AM and woke up around 8 thirty. I layed still for a while and then realized that nonsensical thoughts were flashing through my head like I was about to go to sleep/dream. So I decided, ok, why don't I try to WILD or at least fall into another dream?

I layed really, really still and let the weird thoughts continue to rush through my head, but I kept myself aware of them. I stopped them every once in a while to question them, and all of the weird thoughts were disconnected and made no sense. (By the way, this is like Hypogenic Imagery to me, although I don't see anything, I just think stuff.)
For the first time I started to actually go straight from the real world into the dream world. I was at school, in a classroom with some friends and some other classmates. I was concious of the dream, but I didn't have any control over it. The dream was very, very unstable, my eyesight of everything was horrible, i only caught slight images of where I was and what was going on. i was very disoriented, needless to say.

My friend had large bottles of flavoured liquor (I had bought some for a cake I was making earlier in the week). I wanted to try some, because after all, this was a dream, so I started to walk towards the coffee flavoured one he had just set down. However I was losing sight of the dream world and by the time I got to it, somebody else had already picked it up and moved it. I got very frustrated, and forgot about ways to stabilize the dream. I turned around to look for it and found it again. I stumbled towards it, and all around me people were talking and laughing, and picked it up and opened it. I took a sip of it and gagged. i looked down and it had turned into some disgusting white stuff with a terrible odor and flavour that I was sure I had seen before, but I couldn't place what it was. It left a weird residue in my mouth. I suspect it was made of rice, maybe something my Mexican friend had offered me once.

Then I woke up, but I was groggy and determined to get into a full lucid dream for ONCE. I didn't even budge, I just let the weird thoughts go through again and closed my eyes.
Images of the same classroom swam through my head, and the noises were muffled. I tried to "jump" into it fully by imagining myself IN the classroom. I was very confused and sensed that I didn't have much time. i tried to separate the feelings from my bed from the feelings from the classroom. At I felt my limbs on my bed and pushed that away, then I felt myself standing in the classroom. I envisioned the classroom again.

I began to feel the feelings from the real world go away and I got really excited. Then all of a sudden, i heard four EXTREMELY loud, rhythmical beats pound in my ears. I thought my mom was in my room messing with something and got angry, but then I realized, how could somebody walking around make that sound? it was directly in my ears, and it was muffled and distorted. when i woke up I realized i was hearing my own heartbeat! Why was it so loud? Then I woke up.
I apologize for the loooong explanation. Does anybody think this counts as a successful WILD?

Yes it counts. Even with partial lucidity, or other issues focusing, you were still able to transition from the waking world to the nonphysical world using the technique. As you have more experience with this, it will become easier, and more vivid. Good job
