      Building your own city!

I have a challenge for you guys! Okay, I would suggest this as a task of the month but I can't access that forum as I havent completed one yet :/

So, the idea is to plan and create a town/city in the dreamscape, using your mind. I'll set a basic and advanced challenge for this:

BASIC CHALLENGE: Create a town/city within the dreamscape

ADVANCED CHALLENGE: the same as the basic challenge, however you must be able to access the town/city at any time from a lucid dream, and it must be the same each time.

okay, tell me what you think

Could also work as a dream sign. If you are in your city then you're dreaming. I'm not at this level yet though.

that is a very good point... your ahead of me bro, my LD count is a massive 0 :L
got very close last night though, was lucid for about 2 seconds then lost it, then regained lucidity for another few seconds and then woke up, all in the same dream

You'll get it eventually, just don't give up.

I have a goal to get a fully lucid dream tonight, considering I got so close, not getting my hopes up though

That's good! Always keep that mindset. Don't worry about failing so much, though, just go with the flow. I'm actually going to try the city thing after I complete my current goal, but maybe on a smaller scale.

If I am successful with a DIELD technique or get a usual lucid dream today, I'll try it. My guess that it's going to be very unstable, so even if I succeed at creating it, next time when I go there it will not be the same.

I've never built cities before, I've only destroyed them. xD I might try this.

If you build a city in one dream, there's a good chance it won't show up again in non-lucids unless you constantly think about it during the day... Even so, it won't look the same as it did in the previous dream; that's just how dreams work. Because of that, it probably won't be too effective as a dream sign. Once you're lucid though, you can definitely summon it again and have it look fairly similar; if you visualize it well, that is.

We all live in a kind of continuous dream. When we wake, it is because something,
some event, some pinprick even, disturbs the edges of what we have taken as reality.

Very true. Do you think it would work to use a mantra like "I am in my city at the start of my dream?"
Mantras seem to be working very well for me.

I can't say how accurate the depiction of the city will be, but give it a shot if mantras work well for you!

This is one of my dream goals. How big would the city have to be to be called a city and not a town?

Any questions about lucid dreaming? Drop me a PM here!

Maybe I'm a minority but this seems like a waste of time... I'd rather play sim city during waking time and save my lucid time for more fun stuff (like doing stuff WITHIN a city)

This actually seems really cool, and since it will be in the dreamscape you could incorporate some "impossible" architecture to your city.

The advanced challenge wouldn't work because your dreams are not a space that you can fill with whatever you want and then just leave and come back to it, to find it the way it was. If only.

It's just an area where you can do stuff. What you thought or hoped it was like was along the lines of it being your bedroom. You can fill it with stuff and do whatever you want. But really dreams are like a public park; you can do whatever you want, but they are not yours to customize or to store things in.

I wish your idea was right though, that idea of a saved city would be great, imagine what stuff you could do!
