      weird experiences.. need some enlightenment

So, I am sort of new at lucid dreaming, but as soon as I started trying to have them I am noticing my dreaming is significantly different. I don't keep a journal .. I know I should be but I just don't have the will power to write as soon as I wake up but anyway ... I will usually have a lucid experience once a week, what normally happens is, im dreaming, i realize it and say "i'm dreaming!" I go through the sleep paralysis (even though i can move if i want to.) Then lucidly I wake up in my room and I can't leave my bed. I try to get out but my head feels like it's 100 pounds and every time I stand up I appear back in my bed until i give up and make myself awake for real.

My next weird experience i had last night, I was dreaming and realized it, but instead of sleep paralysis I awoke lucidly in my room ran out the window and started flying, I can't remember like 90% of the dream, but I met whom I presume to be my spirit guide, its a very beautiful girl, my dream girl. (even though she looked different, I first met my guide in a non lucid dream.) I asked her if she was real and she replied yes. I asked when will I meet you, she said I can't tell you.

So what I'm wondering is; is this really just all in my head or is there a greater understanding of this dream world that I havent figured out? And how can I get out of my room if im stuck.

I think some lucid dreams are people messing about in their personal subjective subconscious. Other lucid dreamers seem to report that there's an objective consensus reality that you can visit. i.e. it's NOT all in your head, and other people can meet you in the dreamworld and share experiences that you will both remember.

It looks like you had a full on false awakening to LD, so you are probably exploring that vast objective reality.

Frank Kepple and Monroe talked about the dreamworld a lot. Kepple wrote a lot about what was going on in the different focus levels.

      Good Luck...

I don't know much about objective vs. subjective reality, but I can give pointers on getting stuck.

Try focusing on something nearby and reaching out and pulling yourself out of bed with it. When I make the transition out of WILD into my dream bed, I usually find there is something nearby to grab onto. Or sometimes just focusing hard on an object across the room will make it so I can move toward it just with thought. It's hard to explain, but basically you have to focus on something in the dream to distract yourself from the feeling of your real body in bed. I think it is sensations from waking life bleeding through and telling you that you are still in bed that makes it hard to get out of bed in the dream.
