I'm not saying two subconsciouses exist, all dreams take place within the dreamer's one mind, but during dreams within dreams the mind goes into an even deeper dream-state, with possibly a small amount of consciousness remaining on the first dream track (possibly explaining the "down below" feeling that made this different from the others), sort of like temporary files on a computer. The info (or dreamscape) exists, in the background, and can be drawn back up once the lower dream ends. Or maybe a form of short-term multiple personality syndrome? I know it sounds weird, but sometimes I wake up in the middle of the night and my mind is rushing, and I can hear other voices in my head, which I can even have mental conversations with! (I don't have real MPD just to be clear, they disappear when I'm awake). |
